Wallace didn't leave the dogs in terrible shape. He left them in terrible Hands. Eade is reaping the benefits of his hard work now IMHO.
Recruits in Terry's time were Simon Minton-Connell, James Cook, Steven Pitt, Paul Hudson, Kinglsey Hunter, Trent Bartlett, Daniel Bandy, Aaron James, Nicky Winmar and Andrew Wills. Can anyone think of any really successful ones? Maybe some of the kids coming on now? What's the story with Browny?
The backbone of the Dogs team in recent years, Darcy, West, Grant, Johnson, Smith, Wynd and Cameron, were already there when Terry arrived.
The Dogs were in the finals 94 and 95. Terry replaced Joyce in 96 and then lead them to 3rd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, 13th. I realise that there were mitigating circumstances but that's still a downward slide.
I based my opinion on that record as well as Terry's comments in regard to the Libber incident....it was just an opinion and I think it's a bit unecessary being questioned about it now really.
Terry is a Tiger and I'm happy about it. There was a poll during the year and most PREnders said Eade had had a better 2005 than Wallace. If Eade was our coach now I wonder if other PREnder's posts would be dug up for saying they weren't keen on the idea at the time.
