PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

With guys like howat, raines polo, newman, coughlan, browny, white the bowdens, hartigan, pettifer, delidio, tambling, kracker, hyde we have a dearth of players that can come into the side and play similiar roles. With everyone back on deck next year and with jon ,casserly and the new draft picks it seems we'll have some good players not getting a game. So it would be reasonable to assume if we traded a couple of these types of players we wouldn't miss them too much and could trade for a mobile backman.
So some one like hartigan wouldn't be of much trade value, but could easily come on heaps next year similiar to rainsy, so would be worth keeping (ditto jacko.)
I hope harts is kept on the list for one more year at least, can see him play a similiar role to rainsy bursting out of defence.
I wouldn't mind swapping 2 or3 players to get the type we need.As good a player as newman is we could cover his loss easily enough same with cogs.Trading knobel could be an option and we could use ray hall as stop gap ruckman if we get the backline player we need.
So, knowing Essendon needs some depth a couple players for a keppler bradley type.Carlton would be in the same boat and 2 or 3 players could be used to get Thornton, who is going very well at the moment and the right age and would be a good fit for us.
I think some tough decisions have to be made in this trade period because we need a tall running back now.We have lost games because of this.
