Thoroughbred racing

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

I'm no big punter, but I like Leica Falcon, what will the track be like?

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

From what the weather map indicates, the track should be absolutely perfect, so no excuse for any runners. Plastered is definitely one of the main chances. He's swimming merrily down at Barwon Heads, Victoria and enjoying his stay here.

Track was good yesterday snakehips and its bright and sunny today too.
It'd have to be a wet couple of days Friday and Saturday to be downgraded.
Leica Falcon is a mighty talented horse, but it will really be tested in the cup in class.........a bit like Rewaaya was yesterday.
Having said that it will be carrying no weight and although the class is a step up,the field isn't the greatest ever assembled so has to be a chance.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

I'm big wraps on Mummify at the moment. Huge wraps... D. Nickolic aboard. The barrier is a concern but that field is aboslute rubbish.

The horse I despise is Vouvray... just a cat... I suppose it looks like a cat's race, so that is in her favour.

Is Nikolic available? Or is it pending his appeal?

He was rubbish last saturday,Id prefer him not to ride Mummify.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Your point about the CC mares showing form is an excellent one, RT. Imposera, the mare HB reminds me of, ran second in the Epsom bfore her Caulfield Stakes failure. The reason I've specked HB is that I don't think she goes a yard in the wet. Her run behind Confectioner in the dry was a beauty.

The very lightly weighted runners, Leica Falcon and El Segundo look pitched in.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Geez, I'm really starting to warm to Plastered gents.

Sounds as if his Prep hasnt missed one beat, watched the replay of the Turnbull again,
he was climbing over the top of the cream de la cream in the last 200 & would have been right in the finish instead of just over 2 lengths off them.

The track is going to be dry, HUGE plus for a WA horse.

Like other posters Leysy is also of the view that the barrier is actually to Plastered's advantage & not to El Segundo's. El has a real danger of being cluttered up back on the fence, whereas PLastered's NEEDS to be in the one out line, so Harvey can pull him out & have him looming very large at the top of the straight.

Have a look at the full fields including barreir draws here gents

By the way how much is Activation gunna win the Coongy by.

Any horse that can sit on the pace against a bunch of plodders at caulfield & run the lost 400 in the times he does (& did last start at flem) is gunna kick these things heads in.

Leysy's gunna be loadin up  ;D

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

It's like last year's Derby Leysy, Plastered was sitting on the outside for the whole race and then went around them all as if they were standing still in the straight. If he has no interference in the straight he's going to win imo.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

I dont reckon he'll get too far back Main Vein,

like to see him in the first 6 maybe 8 at most.

But yeah hopefully can see the result being the same :cupgold

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Really like the look of We Can't Say That in the Moe cup today, was impressive winning last start in the country and Freedman has kept the horse in the country instead of bringing the horse to the city. Has not run since Sept 24 so has had a freshen up, I think the horse is primed to win.

And ofcourse the other Freedman horse wins :vomit

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Brilliant fields for CC day.

Volitant is $6.50 early fixed odds. I'll probably wait for a tougher assignment (and a better price). Still it's overs ATM.

Still ruminating on the Cup. We can get that double, Leysy. Again, the mares race is probably easier than it looks.

I can see why you'd like Plastered. We're all looking for one that can gallop. Maybe there ain't none. ;D

Really looking forward to a 60 minute train ride this morning. Form guide time.

I'll be paying particular attention to horses with sore feet and joints (laying them) and dry trackers that have not been suited in the going of the past few weeks.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

The way the springs shaping Oaks day should be a corker.
The Mares and Fillys seem to be dominant this year.
I'm going to be on Hollow Bullett EW,and have some exotic trifectas inc: Bullett,Plastered,El Segundo,Mummify,Sir Dex and Leica Falcon.
Agree on Activation too leysy.
I will toast its success from my Balcony overlooking Burleigh Beach with a frosted Crownie......aaahhhhhhhh. :hearton

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

The two things that interest me about the cup are how far Lachlan River will win by and how Eye-Popper goes, at his last start in Japan he beat Makybe Diva easily over 3200 if he runs well he'll be a huge chance in the Melbourne Cup. About the mares only a few have won it in the last 20 years but they do run a lot of placings Beaux Art from WA ran 3rd to Doriemus & Count Chivas, Lisa's Game a mare of Vasil's ran 2nd or 3rd they don't win often but they are around the mark Laebeel is another got beaten a lip by Sky Heights.

I tell ya what Dyer,

if we do jag it again, we're gunna be lookin at a pretty penny with the CC as the first leg.

Yeah & bloody up yours ST ya tease ;D

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

I don't know much about racing but I'm boxing Plastered, Eye Popper and Leica Falcon.

Have a great holiday Struggs (& JB). You should drop by Sydney on your way back and check out the Fillies at Randwick. There's some frisky little things out there. ;)

Got some time for a roughy here. El Segundo. Not sure that he's up to these yet, and is a swooper, (depends how the track plays), but keeps getting better every start.

Hmmmm, how times change. Now he's favorite for the cup and I reckon he's WAY unders. So is Leica Falcon. Either could win with luck, but there's no value in them at all.

Mummify, Plastered, Hollow Bullet, Dizelle, Lachlan River for my box trifecta.

Good luck, punters.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

looking for some value tomorrow

what are the chances of
Timbourina (I know hard against Activation)
Emlozza
Wild Iris & Hollow Bullet (at moment like Plastered, Demerger and Sir Dex)
Flowerdrum
Shan Dian

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

I've done a huge form night. Grouse programme.

Currently, I rate The Falcon ahead of Portland Singa, El Segundo and as I mentioned I give the Hollow Bullet a shot.
The Bullet is well short of the 60s they offered early in the week.

Portalnd Singa is my top pick for value. Wrong price at 25s. 7s correct.

I'm very worried that the Gauc will go to water on El Segundo. Always panics when the pressure is on. Maybe he's matured.

That last race is a doozie, Leysy. Jeeeeeessh. Tough. More study. Should we 4 into 5 or vice versa, champ?
