Thoroughbred racing

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Hey there Dyer,

will report back in da mawnin,

however at this stage like in cup....Plastered, Sir Dex, agreed Portland Singa overs with the best trainer of stayers in the land lookin after him, & maybe Dizelle. Just have a feelin one of the imports are gunna run a race at big odds...............just not sure which one ;D

early doors like Talons Shown & Sojustrememberthis in the last ( Can Ellerton set a horse for a race, i'm not sure.....what u reckon.)

Can we hit em with the ol' 5 x 4 again, we caught em by suprise last time.
I reckon we can hit em' again ;D.

I'll report back in mornin but wont have too long as time may be against me as headin to track by 11am.

U headin to track Dyer'ere or Gypsy.

good luck lads

I've done a huge form night. Grouse programme.

Currently, I rate The Falcon ahead of Portland Singa, El Segundo and as I mentioned I give the Hollow Bullet a shot.
The Bullet is well short of the 60s they offered early in the week.

Portalnd Singa is my top pick for value. Wrong price at 25s. 7s correct.

I'm very worried that the Gauc will go to water on El Segundo. Always panics when the pressure is on. Maybe he's matured.

That last race is a doozie, Leysy. Jeeeeeessh. Tough. More study. Should we 4 into 5 or vice versa, champ?

I just finished my ratings and Portland Singa came up well too. So did Mummify - bad barrier but did rate well! El Segundo, Plastered and Leica Falcon are also in the market - When was the last time the Metrop winner won the Caulfield Cup? - Railings came up 3rd in my ratings. Lachlan River rounded out my ratings.

Glad it is you guys picking the last - that is a lottery.

Might have a sniff around Vitesse Dane if the track is dry - also rated Astronomia in the 4th odds-on - hope I get what they are quoting in the paper.

good luck and good punting..........RT

Easy, whichever on Kerrin McEvoy is on. He's an exceptional jockey, that one. And waddya know? His gets scratched so they put him on the other one.

Ellerton can definitely set a horse for a race. What we know is, it will be at a price. The question is "Does he need to win this race to get it into the one he's set it for?" Then there's the issue of which one is the good one. He has two runners.

We will get a little mail for the second leg. More later.

My top choice in the race cannot win on weights. This does not worry me much. Pretty Penny is a star bet IMO but each way. Maybe the last 20m will tell. A reformed lunatic that has found the line. Short course sprinter with class and likes a hard track.

I can understand why you like the Freedman and the Ellerton (why is McEvoy riding the OTHER one? ;D)

Read up Ashlyn. At Caulfield on a HARD track. They will have wattered it but the track will be hard, you'd reckon. Penetrometer, anyone?

Astronomia, eh, RT? I wonder how good Pink Princess's run was behind Serenade Rose. I'll have a trifecta with em.

Natural Blitz likes concrete tracks although some would say not this way of going. I almost never give credence to this superstitious mumbo jumbo. The difference between the ways of going is a difference in class, IMO. A Tommy Smith furphy perpetuated by his disciples and descendants.

Natural Blitz struggles in Melbourne class. There's not much of that around this year. He gives 2kg to a horse that's 6/4 and just out of restricted class.

Skewiff is the wrong price. Should be 9/2. Compressed weights see her pitched in.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Plastered at this stage on tab is favourite at $3.90 and El Segundo is at $5.20. Wonder if it will stay like this.
Sir Dex can't be left out of any trifectas.

The only problem I find with Portland Singa is that Larry Cassidy is riding, he just does not win group races in Melbourne.

Good luck boys for the DD, the last is a raffle to me, maybe I'd pick Ashlyn, although this is just a guess.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Thanks, Blood 17.

Your call on L.V.Cassidy is a good one, ml. The key to him is that he can't change lanes.

The early money on tote for Plastered is almost certainly doubles bookies laying off.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

The polite chap rated this one.

Melbourne R2 No.4.

Big price ATM. Spec? I will.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Hey Diet Beer,

in a bit of a rush, will give u my selections.

1st leg No 5 Plastered & No 7 Sir Dex

2nd leg No 5 Talons Shown & No 16 Sojustrememberthis

we can go 5 x 4 again if u like & u can pick out the extra selection in whatever leg u wish.

Good luck punters...........

geez I'm keen...bring it on

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Alright, brother.

I'll have Leica Falcon and Portland Singa in the first leg and Pretty Penny and Ashlyn in the second. I'll put El Segundo in the first leg. No, make it Hollow Bullet. Let's show some balls (inevitable when you've got the arse out of you pants). ;D

So, first leg-
5, 7, 12, 13, 18

Second Leg-
2, 5, 9, 16 AND 13

for $2.00

Is that okay? I've put an extra one on the last leg. That hottie BMS has it and led a trial recently. Hmmmm.
Good luck, PREnders.

Poor Mummify.  :'( :'(

What happened to Mummify Crystal....please tell me you just mean that he didn't hold on to win rather than some tragedy.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

I think its a tragedy Rosy. From the camera angle I saw his front left leg wasn't facing the right way. Apparently he was put in some kind of cast(?) and whisked away in a float. I hope I'm wrong. :'( :'(

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing

Gee I hope he's alright....that's the side or racing I hate. I'll never forget the screen going around a horse right in front of me the first time I went to the races. :'(
