Re:Melbourne Cup

Yeah I like Distinctly Secret, as well as Pentastic.

And I'm going to have a go at a couple of roughies as well, Fawaz and She's Archie.

The fine looking thoroughbred on the back page of today's Herald-Sun will do me. It is a true reflection of my knowledge of horse racing.

Cup Tips

What's your tip? I'm going for Distinctly Secret — describes our game plan perfectly ;D ;D ;D

You heard it here first. Good luck to all tomorrow.

Or you could describe our game plan as 'Frightening'. Then again, you could liken our players to that Irish horse that wont do what the trainer wants him to do - think it's name is Holy Orders.

Don't really have a clue who will win, but I'll pick Frightening just for fun.

I read that if Leon's horse (Mummify) wins, there will be a huge party at the Angler's Tavern afterwards. Go you good thing! ;D ;D

Well what a good day on the punt.

I had She's Archie eachway.
Got the Exacta, and if Pentastic had of hung on for third (beaten a lip) I would of got the Trifecta.
I still cant believe that Pentastic didn't finish third.

Sounds like you had a top day, very unlucky on Pentastic, Jardine's Lookout flew home

I had a good day too, didnt get the winner of the cup, but had Jardines for a place, which was a good result, also backed Light Sweeper which paid very well in the 6th

very good day on the punt, bring on Oaks day, i'm in form and ready to clean up

Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Horse Racing i am quiet a fan of the horses.
I enjoy a punt or two or three or even four.
i have become a student recently last year making the trip to a few of the big days, Cox Plate, Derby Day and Emirates staked day.
My faviorite horse was
She's Archie but she suffered and injury forcing her to never race again.
But my faviourite now is probably Delzao, Womban Road, Capadan and lucky Diva.

Re: Thoroughbred Horce Racing

I haven't looked at the races for a while. I'll come into my own in Autumn when I pair up with Nash Rawiller again. ;D

In the meantime I've had a bet or two on a friends pacer. Rosalee Hanover.

She's racing on Tues or Weds night at Geelong. He's got a younger one in too but I forget the name at the moment. Rosalee Hanover is a bit of a battler who's had some bad luck as a young foal. She went through a fence in the paddock next to our house and the vet wanted to put her down. It's great to see her racing and it certainly makes the TLC put into saving her life worthwhile.

Go Rosalee. She gets right back and flies home usually. Has had a lot of thirds and payed pretty good odds. I haven't asked about her chances this week. She was 3rd at the Valley last week and the race before that was a good thing beaten and the driver had to face a stweards enquiry over his drive.

Super Elegant,
Go Super Elegant! He's won me a fair stack over the years (that gets blown on others ;D ). An Oakleigh Plate would top it off.

On sprinters, was at Sha Tin during the week where you can buy a Silent Witness t-shirt (the colours of black with crossed lime braces)

Silent witness is overrated. I'd like to say him come down to Melbourne and race with real horses. Not the crap that goes round in Hong Kong. I do admit his win in Japan was a nice effort though.

Elegant Fashion can get close in Hong Kong! They're cats.
