With all the debate on the list about out list and after watching a few old Video's thought I'd look at who has come and gone in the past few years.  This list is by no means comprehensive, but does bring out a few skeletons.   Added some comments for interest.

run with knee injuries. Yet to
realise his full potential. Hopefully

Clinton KING - Hard worker who lack physical
presence in the clinches.
Aaron FIORA - Highly skilled, but lightly built.
Best yet to come. Needs to step
up this year.

running out if he doesn't step up
this year.
Ty ZANTUCK - Hard nut who has exceeded the
expectations of many
Darren GASPAR - Good defender who had a bad

Rory HILTON - Excellent pick up, but has had
unfortunate run with injuries.

value when given game time.

with premiership experience
Justin BLUMFIELD - Another quality pick up with
premiership experience.
Jay SHULTZ - Long term prospect who has
shown a bit early

The others I don't know enough about yet.

The point I was really thinking about was a few on this list complain about the so called "Dud" on the Tigers list, but when you look back over the years we have gotten rid of a few who could probably fit into this category.

More importantly I think next year will be the first time we have been in a real position to aggressively recruit and trade in the preseason and I am quietly more confident in the knowledge that Greg MILLER will be oversighting this process. Something I hope will continue for a few years to come.

Go Tigers

At the end of this year it is quite possible that

D Kellaway and Cameron will retire

Biddiscombe, Houlihan, Mills, Vardy, Hyde, King would all be out of contract and likely to be delisted, meaning for the first time in quite a while we could have a decent number of selections on draft day.

with greg miller doing the talking, i have no doubt we should be able to recruit a good player from another club in the pre season draft too. Look how close he got with Lappin and he had only just arrived at the club.

Another departure was my favourite player Chris Bond. We had to give something up to get Otto, and I was so wild at the amount of booing Bondy copped when he first played us.
Likewise we had to give up Horney to get Johnson, and I hope we don't see him booed like Bondy was.

Looking at the two lists I think we've lost a fair bit of height and a lot of toughness without replacing it.
We have got hard players like the Kellaways etc, but apart from Stafford (don't get suspended Greg) and Zantuck, we don't seem to have gained many in the mould of Scotty Turner and Brett Evans and Bondy who would make the opposition think twice about every posession.

Oh for a player with the height of Otto, the heart of Duncan, the leadership of Voss, the mongrel of Archer, the magic of McLeod, the endurance of Harvey, the skill of.........haha get my drift.
Go Tiges.

Sorry Rosie

Forgot about Bondy. Couldn't understand why anyone would Boo Bondy. It wasn't his fault he left. He was a great clubman in his time at the club. Always put it on the line for the club.

There's more eggs in that list of players than in a free range farm. You can also include Howat, Neeld, Manfield, Edwards, Mrakov, Herman, Hernaman, Menagola etc. dud after dud. Richmond has seen its fair share of hacks in the past 20 years to last a lifetime.

The guy that went into the goal post in adelaide - Brad Gwillem or someone - or am i going too far back.

I wonder if our list of departures is about average for the league and every club could come up with a similar list, or have we really been hard done by?

No - I reckon we take the cake. There is no-way Sheedy would have gone down that path. I think Somerville was as bad for him as it got and Richmond tried to draft him too.

Just looking back thru some very old threads (very interesting reading) have a look at this playing list 2003.

Surely 2009's group is way above this sorry lot??
