Tickets for Collingwood game

Heading down to Melbourne at Easter for Collingwood game.

Tried to book seats at MCG, but the "best available" are in Southern Stand, second section, right behind the goals. No tickets available in any other stands. I know it's an away game, and I only have a country membership (which is effectively a donation to the club; only get to a couple of games a year)...

The game is five weeks away. What's going on? Anyone know??

The scum conned the MCC into allocating them a shitload of seating for their members as part of the MCG redevelopment. You might find more areas opening up closer to the game though

The MCG will probably be only letting certain tickets go on sale, then when it gets closer to the game they will open up other sections.

It's so that the lower sections go on sale first, so that they look good on camera.

Yeah, and because we're talking about HOLIDAYS, ie a week off school, flying, tickets, etc...we're coming down Sat afternoon when there are still airline tickets, and staying till Sunday 15th. Would have loved to have got to the Swans game, but will see the rematch at home later in the year.

So...it is the Collingwood game we're talking about.

And thanks for the replies. I'm taking it up with the AFL and Richmond.
