There's an article by Rebecca Williams about Cogs in the H/S yesterday and seeing it's not on their website I'll post it in dot form for those who like to keep up with our press.

There are also photos of Cogs, Richo and Browny. Who is the shirtless one following Browny?

  • He's known as one of the dolphins at Punt Road but Cogs is ready to reclaim his mantle on dry land in our midfield this year.
  • Our 2003 b&f winner is on track for a return early in the h&a season.
  • After months of running has stepped up training in the past fortnight, completing a full session with his team mates on Wednesday.
  • Didn't take part in Friday's match practice at Vic Park. Is a month off one on one work.
  • Cogs is confident of a round 1-5 return.
  • Knows the importance of the year ahead. "I'm in a bit of a vulnerable position and this year's really important to me, " he said "I just want to get things right now. I've had a few injuries, so am getting a bit smarter with my body now."
  • "While my fitness may be off a bit, I really want to be peaking in the second half of the year."
  • Cogs said he's learned from past experiences not to rush his recovery. "You've got to find a balance between pushing your body and looking after it," he said.
  • While Cogs immediate aim is for an early-season return, he is desperate to taste finals action for the first time.
  • "There's a couple of guys getting on a bit, Richo and Bowdo, and those sort of guys," Coughlan said. "It would just be nice to get them in the finals because they've only got two or three years left in them. I've played 80 or 90 games and haven't played in a final yet. That's what I'm really aiming for this year*."

*Onya Cogs. And so say all of us.

Cant wait to see him back in action. One of my favourite players because he just wears his heart on his sleeve and has a passion for this club that must inspire all those around him. Our next captain! :clap

Can't wait to have a firing Cogs back, at his best he could easily win a brownlow.

Sounds like he's not going to come back too early.

Had two best on grounds before he did his knee, would love to see that form this year!

Definitely him, Lids or Newman!

Sorry if this is a silly question, but why do they call him a dolphin? ???

Ta TG. You can tell I'm not a player stalker. :hihi The only way I could contribute to the off-season player sightings would be if they were wearing their playing jumpers. :-[

I'd guess because of the amount of swimming re-hab he's done.

I'd love to see Cogs become our version of Stenglien or Scott Tompson. It's an essential role in a premiership side.

Most of all I'd love to see him return to kicking right foot as his preferred.

A few years ago he had to shoulder too much load.Would be nice to see him as icing on a real qualty midfield cake.

Good to see from this article that the new training gear from RBK has arrived. Last time I was at training, the guys were still in some Hummel stuff.

Hard to tell from the b&w photo, but if those guernseys they are wearing are yellow, they'd make idea clash jumpers IMO.

Someone said Cogs has very definite ideas as to what should happen at the Tigers, but its hard to get him to verbalise them.
Rebecca Williams must have had him on the rack and stuck bamboo shoots under his fingernails to get these in depth comments from Cogs. Maybe she should be in our scouting team.

And they do things like change their hair style and colour, change their body shapes in the gym.......must get to training to report on these changes. ;D

I'm so happy to see that quote from kamakaze Cogs. Hope he has a big one and gets back to his best (of course, if he's anywhere near his best, he will have a great year).
