0-3 won't be an absolute disaster (except for the fact it would mean a loss to carltank). but being any worse than 5-5 by round 10 will be a disaster.

The draw gets a helluva lot easier after the first three rounds. If we get at least one I'll be happy enough. Two and I'll start thinking of a serious tilt at finishing 3rd-6th

Was thinking similarly that even if we start the season 0-3 it's not inconceivable (unlikely but not inconceivable) that we could turn at the half way mark 6-5 or at worst 5-6.

I am nowhere near as excited about our prospects for the season as some others appear to be.

a win in round 1 really important: and the game is big for us: for us to make the finals you have to put a tick next to Carlton as one of the games we win: its one we cant afford to drop: loose and we will pay for it later in the season. 4pts on Thursday will be the kind of thing that means we dont sit at 10-11wins and miss the finals by a game or a game and a half at years end.


the next 2 rounds are much taller orders and losses would not really be against expectations from pre-season. We can expect to drop games to top 4 teams; we need to grasp every win possible from teams competing 5-16 -
