I may be getting over excited but i honestly believe that our current season is building up very similarly to Essendon's Premiership winning year of 1993. With our experienced players being steady and our young guns improving weekly, i can see us sneaking up on all sides and exploding at finals time and going all the way. Essendon had Longy (we have Tambo), Mercuri (Meyer), Hird (Deledio), Madden (Simmonds), Salmon (Richo), Hawker (Polo), Baker (Browny), Daniher (Kellaway), Ezard (Pettifer), Denham (Foley), Bewick (Krakouer), Olarenshaw (Tivendale), Merrett (Stafford), Hill (Tucky), Watson (Coughlan), Thompson (Raines) etc etc. I reckon we stack up pretty well. I haven't seen us with so much young talent and future prospects since 1980. I can just see us making the finals and with the courage, improving skills and electrifying speed some of our kids have got i reckon Richo will have a picnic during the the balmy September finals weather. As i said to a mate recently, i think Richo's wrist fracture is a blessing as it will give his body the perfect rest he needs to finish the season off very strongly. Just have that really special feeling that we may not have to wait any longer than this year. What do you all think.
