Hughes playing VFL Reserve's, WTF, pull him out have a good heart to heart chat with him via the Club Captain "Relax" Newman, and he should be selected for the FF role and told you've got a few games in a row to get it together. Maybe he can't because he's struggling mentally, but none of know, no one at the Club seems to be prepared to talk about why Cleve is not firing even at VFL level and personally I find that disturbing.

Why is it disturbing the club don't want to talk about it? If its because of the reasons some have alluded to here, its none of our business. As long as the club are assisting Cleve, thats all that matters.

Just because the public is not being told anything doesn't mean that nothing is being done. It may just mean its the kind of matter best kept between Cleve and the club.

Yeah you could be right there, how many chats has Ricky Ponting had with Andrew Symonds and then there seems to be more problems after the "chat", like "gone fishing".

Examining Symmo's life via the media doesn't seem to be helping his issues either. Personally I haven't been a fan of how he was handled (esp by Michael Clarke).

Did I hear recently that Cleve Hughes has had a stress fracture in his foot? If so, we may be judging him far too harshly.

Actually, injuries have probably played a bigger role in Cleve's lack of continuity than people give credit for.

Who know's, but if he's got a stress facture in his foot, we've all just seen what Brett Lee and Peter Siddle in the Aussie Cricket team have been thru with those sorts of injury. It either needs time to heal or surgery to do it, hopefully if Hughes has that sort of injury its time related rather than surgery, but then who's to know, who's to know, I would have thought he'd be showing on the injury list, bloody stupid to play a kid with that sort of injury.
