Hearld-Sun journos Mark Robinson and Mark Stevens were caught out at half-time on Friday night ... Here is a leaked copy of Robbo's draft as it was being prepared for the morning paper.

Sure makes an intersting comparison to what was printed:

"Shameful Pies 14 April 2007 Herald-Sun Mark Robinson

FAIR dinkum, Collingwood could take a wheel iron to a spelling bee and wonder what went wrong.

Three times they have played teams so chock full of rookies this year that had it not been for some pre-school kicking from wooden-spoon favourites the Kangaroos in Round 1 they would be 0-3. The Pies should be ashamed of themselves.

Not so the Tigers.

Often games are played that remind you what football clubs are all about. Richmond has ticker. Collingwood wouldn't know how to spell it.

Last night the Tigers didn't have Nathan Brown, Kent Kingsley or Mark Coughlan. They only gained Troy Simmonds for his first hit-out this season 10 minutes before the bounce. In Shane Tuck's 50th match, nearly half his team mates had played less than that. Which makes him a Tiger veteran.

They had Brett Deledio (45 games), Nathan Foley (29), Cameron Howat (7), Luke McGuane (4), Kelvin Moore (19), Adam Pattison (19), Dean Polo (19), Andrew Raines (31), Jay Schulz (39) and Richard Tambling (35). Along with Tuck there is half of Richmond's 22.

They had one veteran key forward, Matthew Richardson, and one veteran key defender, Darren Gaspar. Of the others, Joel Bowden, Kane Johnson and Greg Tivendale apparently can't run out of sight, Chris Hyde, Andrew Krakouer and Chris Newman are old men at 24, and Kayne Pettifer couldn't find a hard ball at a snooker convention. What's left is 22 year old Graham Polak.

And, yet, they embarrassed the Pies.

Last night, despite the late withdrawal of James Clement, and with Nathan Buckley and Alan Didak on the sidelines, one half of Collingwood's side alone could boast more than 1700 games experience that includes 17 grand finals.

Terry Wallace is an amazing coach. Before 10 minutes was played Pattison, Deledio and Foley contested the centre bounce in front of 70,569 people at the best stadium in the world.

Wallace's faith was rewarded. The same can't be said of Collingwood.

There's a sense of warmth at Richmond. That each player knows about sacrifice and what it means to the team.

Last night Richardson was supreme. His kicking was woeful but he and Jay Schulz were generals in the arc. Tuck, Tambling and Deledio, found possessions at will, while at the clearances Foley probably had all of Collingwood, save for Dale Thomas, watching with awe.

Wallace should be immensely proud. Not so Collingwood.

The Magpies were opened up through the middle of the ground, poor with their skills, and couldn't match Richmond's run and intensity. Leadership is an issue. The supposed better and experienced players continue to make error after error. Rocca was removed from the field in the second quarter, and while Dane Swan continues to collect possessions, too often they are ineffective."

Funnily enough too, Mark Stevens began his article,

"IT WAS one of those moments when you wish you could change your tip."

a little heavy-handed with the conspiracy theories at this stage of the season aren't we GBH? :hihi
