I've been here in perth now for a few years (originally from Melbourne) and am getting quite annoyed with the broadcasting of the games over here, both on TV and Radio.
It annoys me when in Round 4 the WestCoast game was contracted to FOX but it still aired (30min delay) on free to air here in Perth, when they could've been playing the tiges game instead. Also, I was listening to it on the radio, but around the start of the last quarter it cut off and switched over to the WCE game. All possible AM stations that were broadcasting footy were boradcasting the WCE game!!
And now, Round 5, the Freo game is contracted to FOX, but it is also being aired LIVE on free to air, when once again they could be boradcasting the tigers game... And the only radio station boradcasting the game is BIMR, who the hell is that??!? I'm sure that staion will be switching over to the Freo game halfway through the tiges games, again...
I used to go the game every week when living in Melbourne, if it was at the G or the Dome (I lived a 20 min walk from the G). And I thought with today's technology it would be broadcast somewhere, somehow, over here...
Is anyone else (in Perth) pissed off with this happening? Does anyone know of any solutions, ie. Receiving free to air stations from other states!?
