Tigers in the Community- Giving Tree

I was talking to RFC this morning and during December there is going to be a Giving Tree for the Tigers in the Community Foundation. 

Details will be sent out in the Jungle Beat but for those who don't subscribe to it the gist is that one of the charities the group supports have lunch at Punt Road on Christmas Day and the presents will be given to them.

There are all ages, adults, kids, male and female and the suggestion is the gift should cost no more than $15.

I usually put gifts on a tree in Myer, Target or K-Mart etc but will support our own this year and decided to post here inviting others to do the same.  It would be nice for PREnders to support the initiative if they can afford it.

If anyone, like me, doesn't get to Punt Road to put the gifts under the tree I'm happy to collect money from PREnders who'd like to contribute and buy the presents and send down after discussion with the club on which ages could do with the help.  Please PM me if interested.

Seeing the PRE Punters Club has generously contributed to costs this year I'll use some of that money to buy some pressies from PRE and hopefully help put a smile on some faces on Christmas Day.

i have to say im appalled and disgusted with you lot of selfish self indulgent feral tightfisted scrooges. 1 reply to this thread is not good enough. i am going to donate money to this worthy cause and i bloody hope there are others out there who can find a measly 15 bucks for a present for those who are less fortunate than us. talk about a miserly greedy bunch of self indulgent no hopers get your hands in your pockets and put a smile on a kids face this christmas. if you can afford membership or the rookie club you can certainly afford something for the christmas tree.
i can tell you all this santa is disgusted.

I don't think Andy and claw were advertising by posting that they were contributing to the Giving Tree. 

Santa is about as frightening as Aunty Jack threatening to rip ya bloody arms off.  In his round about manner I suspect he was just trying to encourage others to think about the cause.

To his credit santa has offered to contribute very generously and it will be a full day's work fun for me to buy and wrap the gifts to put under the tree on his anonymous behalf.

(Don't tell santa I told you this, he wouldn't want his reputation ruined,  but underneath his gruff exterior he's really a soft teddy bear.)

sheesh i used to like that show rosy. and yes you read me like a book i was just giving a bit of encouragement to my fellow ferals. so how about it prenders its a great cause.

You are a good honorable Richmond bloke as no one would go to the lengths that you do to. You still seem to p!ss people off but I feel that your intentions are pretty pure mate. Another off the cuff and problem frivolic statement is that we will win a flag in the next 4 years. Call in a premonition but I really think that we are just about the Victorian team with its head best screwed on despite the irregular poor decision.

I was told it will be there for all of December Harro. Probably in the Tiger Den so check there. If not just I'm sure a gift could be left for soemone to put on the tree for you.

It's in the Tiger Den next to the membership desk. There were a fair few presents under it a fortnight ago when I was there.
