Tigers next captain?

I think we need someone who can stand up and be counted and has a fair bit of mongrel about them, Somebody who will get angry and intimidate the opposition. Maybe the same can be said for the coach. Sorry but i come from the old school of football. We will never win a flage if we dont inject some venum. IE. Hard nuts. >:(

Daniel Connors in a year or 2 perhaps?

I agree with ronnit on sugar i think hell be there in 08 as the skipper but had seriously figured he would be gone midway throught this season.

Precisely! Will be hard to watch Sugar go around again as Captain, but he'd have to get a tap on the shoulder first before he was removed IMHO. Won't happen though cos his form improved in the last handful of games and we won a couple - no coincidence.

If he did get the tap on the shoulder, I'd definately select Richo going into a centenary year (this irks me just a tad cos Bowdo was tailor-made two years ago but overlooked). Richo has finally matured - didn't take long ;). His last 1-2 years would be great for the club and allow a younger, long term candidate time to put up their hand though their sheer consistency of effort and performance (Deledio, Foley, Polo, Thursfield) or a mid aged Couglan would finally fulfill his abundant potential.

Making a 22 for next yr had Sugar lucky to be in it IMO....If it was me id give it to Browny for a year or two - matchwinner, media savvy, says and does the right things, has respect in the footy world etc...then it will be a smooth handover to our then best player in Deledio. Sugar has done it tough through a tough period and i admire his efforts...but time has come...if ur captain struggles to find a position in the 22 then you know its time to have a talk in terrys office.

I seem to remember when they did the leadership tests, both Richo and Bowden tested poorly, while Johnno and Browny did well. It was one of the bigger concerns at the time, that for decent leadership RFC was having to look outside the men it developed itself.

i have never heard a bad word spoken about kane from any of the players..they love him....that is pretty important...
