I was terribly disappointed with Richmond's effort (was it an effort?) against the Bulldogs last night, March 31. Hell, not one of the players seemed to have a clue what to do with the ball when they found it in their hands. Anyone agree? They have to play as a team and Terry Wallace has to get stuck into them.

agreed. no effort, no teamwork, and i was disgusted when i think schulz was thrown into the fence and not 1 player flew the richmond flag... i think this represented their will last night...

I wondered about that incident too, Neeld. He certainly hit the fence hard. I sent Jack Dyer junior an email this morning saying that I was awfully disappointed last night. He wrote back that he stopped watching the game on TV at half time, which says a lot. They have to find the "teamwork secret" quickly.

the same thing happened the night before with riewoldt. just as well he jumped into the crowd otherwise he could have done his knee like richo did when dunkley threw him into the fence. the thing i cant believe is that the umpires dont penalise this, there has to be some accountability for such actions...

Thanks for moving my comments to the correct place, Jools. Sorry about that! I'm also sorry to say I can't see the Tigers winning with the present style of game.

Bingo, another example of the lack of mateship. What are you all going to tell me know? The boys are all closely bonded together and go out for picnics & bbq's, and attend birthday parties at McDonalds?

The incident when Schulz was thrown in the fence, there should of been mayhem by our boys and really stick into the opposition with something to feel when they had gone back in the rooms.

Again, another example of not firing a shot!

I can't claim to be a football expert like other PRE members, but I do love the game and rarely miss watching matches on TV whenever possible. I'm not aiming at our Tigers here, but football in general. It just doesn't seem the same spectacle as a few years back or for that matter, in its long history. I miss the duels between two high-leapers when the ball's there, the talented wingmen taking control of the leather and dashing, bouncing a couple of times, to instigate an attack, fellers like Kevin Barlett displaying sparkling dash and evasiveness near the goal square, but all the above happening at a pace that can be absorbed and enjoyed by the fans. Instead now it's a mish-mash of super-fast movement of the ball, in too many cases going to the wrong person (the opposition) causing an embarrassing turnover. I don't think players, with exceptions such as McLeod (sorry about the others I've left out) making expert use of the oval object whenever it's in their possession. Too fast, too many mistakes, not enough one-on-one battles for me. I still remember listening on the wireless to Captain Blood, near his final game (or maybe it was his last appearance) playing at full back, rucking and moving to a forward position during the afternoon and winning in each position. But maybe I'm just too old-fashioned.
