You guys are like the MMM commentating team.

How about you talk about footy on a footy thread :)

We have to talk about non-footy stuff so Redford understands the discussion ;D

Ouch. Now even those he thought were on his side are turning against him!

Just got this on my Sporting pulse / DT newsletter.

It has been mentioned many times before, but Brent Prismall is just a born DT freak. If he were at any other club, he’d be my first picked because he is one of those players who just finds the footy. Against the Power last week he played only 84 minutes game time yet still racked up 32 disposals and 106 DT points. The week prior he had 21 disposals and 68 DT points, taking his season average to 75 in three games. In all but four of his 16 career games he has topped 50 points – a good effort considering his lack of game time and opportunities in the star-studded Geelong lineup.
While he has never played more than five games in succession, if he keeps finding the footy at this rate it will be hard for him to lose his spot. Coach Bomber Thompson flagged that he was going to give him a chance in the coming weeks which makes his current price of $238,300 almost irresistible.

Thats not much good when by your own admission "he's just an average footballer that'll be delisted anyway" Phanto ;)

Brents always been an excellent footballer who looks like at last he'll be given an ongoing chance at Geelong. If that indeed turns out to be the case he wont be looking to leave the cats for greater opportunity eslewhere, more's the pity.

I'm just looking at his stats.

http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/B/Brent_Prismall.html

Take away his last 2 games, need to go back to early 2007.

Must admit, my initial post, on June 11th, was before his last 32 possie game.
That last game against Port Adelaide, on June 15th, does put a new complexion on things.

Reckon he read my earlier comments and decided to lift his game. ;D

If phantom had taken the time to watch him play rather than just garner stats from the web it would have been obvious he'd make a good quality AFL midfielder. Games like last week were always on the horizon if Bomber (or any club) gave him the ooportunity.

Either way Geelong are the winners out of this one.

The may have another top flight onballer into the mix and someone to pair with Joel Selwood for the next 6 years or they have made some very tasty trade bait. It also will make it very hard for Geelong to do there delistings come years end. Some one pretty good is going to get the chop.

Maybe Byrnes, maybe Nathan D, Nathan Ablett has to go.

Good call Leysy but it aint gunna happen.

Yes.

I don't get time to watch him. I'm at TAC games instead.

Can't be in two places at once.

But I will listen if someone says something to me.

Living wear geelong i saw him play a few games in the pre season and he was killing it racking up 30+ possies a week (i brought this before) but i think now hes getting game time he may cost to much come trade week!

Anyone think he would rack up 30 possessions in a Richmond team? Justin Blumfield anyone? Lets grow our own

Blumfield was finised when we got him, his body was shot and he was just another one of the hacks we have recruited over the jurney. Different type of player also Prismall goes and gets his own ball , No comparison

thats fair enough phantom,

though leysy's not sure how anyone can come to the conclusion that our Coburg boys are better & that he's "just an average player who'll be delisted this year" if you haven't even seen him play. :headscratch

Yeh, fair comment. This is how I see it.

The older Prismall (this one) was a good TAC footballer, not a great one.
It probably has been hard for him getting a run at Geelong in a premiership team. But then again, the 3 outstanding players in last year's Geelong VFL premiership team were Davenport, Callan & Gardiner. Mind you a couple of 20 possie games early last year for him in the AFL was prpobably an indication that he was capable of it.
Well done to him, and well done to you for notocing it early.

S'pose he's a bit like Foley, only appreciated early by those who knew early enough what he might have been capable of.

Still, there is nothing to suggest to me that our Coburg rovers, Horne & Carnell, can't do the same. The only difference is that they are currently outside the AFL system and therefore can't get a go.

Still, to this day, I can't understand why we didn't take the opportunity to rookie Horne & Kevin Morris's son, Stephen I think his name was.
Reckon Kevin's son could have been our version of Campbell Brown.

Think that one cost us a 2nd round pick :thumbsup
