PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

With all this talk about revamping Princess Park and the obvious benefits to the scum with their home ground becoming 'the third stadium' in Melbourne, it begs the question of Punt Road. Why can't the Tigers in conjuntion with the council look at playing our non MCG Home Games at Punt Road. These games would no doubt be against Freemantle, West Coast Port Adelaide and Adelaide and possibly others. The ground could also be available for other clubs.

The way I see it, obviously the ground would need some developement in relation to toilets, catering, stands and entry. However, even utilising standing room like the old days surely we could fit 15000-20000 now. Would we not make more money having a home game with 10000 at Punt Road over a home game with 20000 at docklands. Not to mention the home ground advantage of 10000 ferals at punt road. You could pencil in 6 home wins a year at Punt road every year.

I know we are well behind Princess park in fascilities but the principles are the same and over time the ground could be developed into a boutique 20000 seat stadium.
