Tigers vs Bulldogs threads (merged)

I ave just read all 18 pages of this thread. Pre Punt Road End at its best. An unacceptable performance, I hope we can bounce back but we have never performed well when lacking confidence and thsi is the type of game that can really wreck confidence. Lets hope they gettheir positivity back and just run harder even when they think they are tired, tackle hard, be accountable and give more even when tired. That is what makes a good sde.

The one thing that must come out of this massive loss, is a complete change of attitude from our midfielders.

1) Bludging in the centre square = will no longer be tolerated.

2) Waiting for somebody else to lead = all of you must create play.

3) Flat footed with hands on hips = you will be dragged.

4) Not playing for each other = you will be sent back to Coburg!

5) Not showing any pride in the club = you will be delisted or traded at the end of the year.

Last night I saw our midfielders standing flat footed and bludging in the centre square. Meanwhile the Doggies ran rings around them, it was really quite disturbing.

Well said, but the problem is that floggings like last night DONT drive the boys to do those things as you would expect. Remember 2004?

Richmond still stuck in the Bermuda Triange. :hihi

It would be nice to be a Brisbane supporter.

Surely we all understand that football is cyclical - bad times - then good times (in Brisbanes case Premierships) - then players get old and stay too long  - then they all leave at the same time - then the cycle starts all over again.

So I am sure that Brisbane supporters won't fell too bad at their loss today. They have had some pretty good years.

The Richmond cycle is more like being stuck at the bottom of Niagra Falls in a barrel.
If Brisbane is such an attractive option then don't fight that feeling, mate.

Seems that the biggest problem with the Tigers is the fact the "true" members are living in la la land.

Most used words on this thread:

Hope
Round 1
Spirit
can only get better

Whats wrong with being honest?

Are you helping or hindering the Tigers with your unquestionable support?

Way to cynical to live in la la land sniper.
I am a member because it is one of the ways I can contribute financially to the ongoing future of the club that I choose to support.
I support them because of both the enjoyment and the frustration they have provided me for forty years but I must admit I have to question your "honesty" or perhaps integrity. Do you actually support in any way? From the few posts of yours I have read the term sanctimonious bastard seems to ring loudly in my ears.
You aren't a member by your own admission, won't spend money on such a poorly run organisation, but happy to pay the AFL or Telstra Dump owners your hard earned to watch the Tigers play. Then again maybe you sponged a freebie of someone and are just pissed off that you didn't get value for turning up to watch.

Jumped straight in to bag the butch *smile* who just happens to be one of the favourite targets of the slaggers, regardless of the fact that he just happens to be probably the best and most exciting player we've had in the last twenty years and good enough for all his faults to be named in our team of the century.

Damn! Why do I get the feeling that I'm going to get in trouble with the admin of this site again?
Double Damn! why don't I delete this instead of posting?

Let me start my first post by saying I have barracked for Richmond all my life and I am not a paid up member.

The main reason I am not a paid up member is beacuse I don't particularly like giving my money away to people who have no idea what they are doing.

Parasite!

I was going to respond to mcsmcs but I see GPB has summed him up nicely.  :blowingup

Now to the main topic of this thread Richmond vs Bulldogs.

Well I haven't posted because I have been waiting to calm down before I post so that my post doesn't sound like the rantings of a mad woman. Unfortunately after 2 days I am still fuming.

I have read the many posts on this forum and agree with many, how could they be so bad. For me the worst aspect of it was the way they packed it in after half time. I wasn't expecting too much out of this year, all I really hoped for was that they be competive, like Wallace said they would be. But that was expecting too much.

For next week I have a feeling that we will be going for more experience. 1-3 players will be changed. I hope that they try and man up when the ball is coming out of our 50 and try and get into space when we have the ball. The forwards have to work harder and the backline need to help each other out. Too often I saw the ball coming in and the forwards would drop the mark. Unfortunately there were no crumbers around to swoop, WHY ARE WE STILL LACKING THAT????????????

The chasing was pathetic. Last year I stood up for Pettifer when everyone was bagging him. But to see him try and chase was laughable. Why couldn't he hit a target? But he wasn't alone there, it appears no-one could hit a target. Grrrrr Nash Nash.... Who is our skills coach?

Body language was deplorable. I am not only talking one or two players but a lot of the older players were crawling back into their shells.

OK Rant is over.....AHHHH calm down....Ooooh that feels better.

On the positive side Brown was quite good (gee I wonder what he was thinking last night). Lids was good. Was quite happy with Raines. Richo tried all night.

I look forward to reading the same silly posts by the same silly people next year after round 1.

Did you just call Richo a butch b!tch? :-* - well, he plays footy like one!

Your attitude and belief that you are helping the club is the reason the club is in the position it is.

But - you would not have it any other way - would you? - there would be nothing for you post about if things were great.

Furthermore the mod should screen all future members of this forum to ensure they are prepared to tow the line or be shot down for actually saying enough is enough.

Enjoy the rest of the season and the next one, and the next one............ :hihi

What would be the point of a forum if everyone agreed?

ok, it's been 48 hours since fridays embaressment and i'm still angry. you'd think you would calm down after a couple of days wouldn't you?

i thought we were past the times when we would go to water under pressure. even though we lost a lot of games in the 2nd half of last year, at least we had a go. we got close to freo in perth, port in adelaide, geelong in geelong and come from behind to beat hawthorn. i thought spud was coach again on friday.

i agree with some of the other posts about leadership. where were the leaders on friday? why didn't they stand up?

players must be sropped next week. fridays "performance" cannot be accepted.

did anyone see what griffin had to say in the newpaper today? he said, and i quote: "after half time, they definately gave up. they were arguing between each other and they were just all loose. they just let us go and we ran. rocket said if you put pressure on them they will cough it up. we just went out there and closed the space and they did cough it up." this was said by 19 year old kid for christs sake!

i sometimes i wish i gew up a north melbourne supporter. they have a lot of spirit and always give their supporters value for money.

i don't know what the training schedule is, but tw should have had the boys at punt road at 6am this morning flogging them on the training track.

we are the laughing stock of the AFL.
