Tiges vs Blues List Comparison - Talking Carlton View

Cartlon might not be around by the end of the year so who cares what Blues supporters think!! It's obvious that they are dillusional. How many Blues players would the Tigers look at maybe only Fev, Fisher(injury depending), Murphy & Waite thats it!!!

If Carlton have another low finish next year then IMO their members will revolt.  The Committee will be challenged and this will all lead to a topping up of their list with players olf the ilk of fleming, hoolahoops, hudson, et al. The theory being "let's win 9-10 games and keep the ferals happy.

It takes a lot of guts to truly rebuild a list.  Everyone has to be patient and I don't think Carlton (unlike us) have been through enough pain.  As Phantom sort of indicated "we knew just how rubbish we were and we knew we had to build from the bottom up.  Whereas Carlton still believe they are a half decent side and with a bit of topping up .......... well we've been there done that and we know it doesn't work.

The Duke "As Jars would know, you can manipulate stats to work either for or against you. On the weekend, I heard them praising the tiggers for having 10 or so players who have played less than 35 games. I thought wow that's amazing. First thing I did when I got home was check out their playing list expecting 10 blokes under 20 years old. What I found was;

10 or so players IN THE TEAM ON THE DAY! Not on the list!

Then he goes on to list 3 out of 7 players that played that day. :clap

Hartigan - 21
Tuck - 24
*smile* - 21
Humm - 23
Moore - 22
Foley - 25
Roach - 20 in his 3rd year.

So my theory is we have a better list, although they too have some young talen, but ours are still much, much younger than their 'rookies' overall."

:rofl :welcome to living in denial for for 20 years. I don't recommend it.

I don't think Foley is 25. I recall watching him play U18s for the Falcons in 2003.
He's about the same age as Hartigan & Roach.

You know what I love about this post is that The Duke has managemd to confuse himself.

"10 or so players IN THE TEAM ON THE DAY! Not on the list!"

Yep, we are actually playing our young players not leaving them in the seconds so that our actual team is mature but our list is young!

I think the most interesting thing about the Blues thread was their recognition that a number of our players young and old, have improved.

That is the tribute I think our coaching staff should take the greatest heart from, Pettifer, Hyde, Krakouer, Simmonds, Raines, Polo, Tambling, Deledio all got mentions.

As for their - our juniors are younger and therefore we are in a a better position line I mean jeez, I prefer te way our juniors are debuting and coming along to theirs any day (with the exception of Murphy but No. 1 picks now days are outstanding). Potential only goes so far they have to be blooded and cut it in the big league and a lot of our younger players are doing that - theirs may or may not.

He is 21 is September, but most stats sites say he is 25 for some reason.

richmond have 20 players 21 or under on their list with another 10 under 25. they have very few players aged 24 thru 28 or players in their prime. with the right recruiting. in 3 yrs time when a good percentage of their juniors enter the 24 to 28 bracket they will have some sustained success.

:partyfest :cupgold :grouphug :banana :hula
just thought i would add some balance to their ramblings. as everyone knows im a fan of the kids. and the blues would do well to recognise the long term hacks on their list have to go. personally i hope they stay deluded for yrs to come.
like phantom i think long term they are ok with talls they now need to find some quality onballers,i suppose iif they finish last gibbs will be a blue. one other thing i think in 3 yrs time they will be in a better position to trade than us for what they need mainly because the talls on their list will hold their value.

Carlton are a long way behind us. Their still counting Kouta as a matchwinner illustrates this point. He isnt a match winner anymore, age has caught up with him.
