Tim Taranto Thread

I feel what Carlton got from picking up Williams after his BOG performance in the 2019 preliminary, stooged them in the same way Tarranto stooged Us with his performance against us when he kicked 5 at the testie dome when Dan Rioli kicked the winner.
We won't be the last club to do it either.

Harley comes to mind.

Agree. No coincidence he played his best footy at GWS off half forward with stints in the middle.
When? He certainly wasnt a goal kicking half forward- his best year for goals was 2023, and this year is his 2nd best.
And he is a lifetime 50% accuracy shot. We may need to move him to get a different balance in the square, but it wont be because he is actually a good half forward.

2019 kicked 26 goals and won GWS B&F in their grand final appearance.

Disinterested and laconic.
Stop chasing in 3 steps
4 tackles
1 centre clearance
186m gained

Trade him like hawthorn traded Omeara and Mitchell

22 CBAs for 1 clearance, our midfield coach has to look at the way we are setting up in there , way to much easy ball coming out . So of the 4 players that attended most of the CBAs added up to approximately 80 for 5 clearances , I know Yze is limited in talent to go in there , however thats woeful .

More time forward for Taranto .

Him and hopper a good workhorses whos highligts reels would be almost empty.I can barely recall a single moment of brilliance from.either.Maybe good replacements for Caddy type roles.
Be a much better side once both are reolaced by lalor guttim mcqualiffe smilie and whoever else we draft .

Can't fault his or hoppers endeavour but the truth is they just good ordinary players.

As we get our midfield sorted with the youth over next couple of years Tim should be played more and more in the forward line area.

Even though it cost a bit im very pleased to have him and Dennis currently, yes they both are a bit slow but we'd truly be non competitive without them as it stands now.

30 and 3. Has been extremely good this year and ever since coming to Tiger land. Criminally underrated by the external media and disappointingly our own supporters

Yeah he plods along behind the player he’s (apparently) chasing and never even looks like catching him - but every player has strengths and weaknesses

He’s been a great asset for us in pretty dire times
And now when blokes like Lalor, Smillie, McAullife etc get back into the midfield rotation - he’ll be an important factor in their development
