TIME TO CHILL!!!

Ladies and gents .....

The ox is slow but the earth is patient........... Which great man said that???? :don't know

We need to stick to the plan :gotigers

This revisionism BS on Gaspar is just sickening. TW lied to him when they made their 'contract' in that he was told he would get a position on merit criteria. TW changed the goal posts and effectively told GAS he wouldn't be picked unless there were significant injuries. This anti Gaspar venom arises only because the result after his absence showed how valuable he was and posters who bagged Gaspar feel stupid and childlishly hit out at Gaspar - guys the diversion tactic doesn't work - you still all look stupid and not very football savvy (BTW that was apparent before the Geelong game).

And please lets be consistent.

It is not possible for Gaspar to hurt the team because he plays and also hurt the team because he doesn't play! Make a choice and stick to it.

When the club breaks its contract with you on criteria for selection , and you are told you are not wanted or needed, whether you want to or not your only option, if you have any self respect, is to leave.

Terry and the Gasbaggers got what they wished for - at least the Gasbaggers should have the guts to be accountable for that decision/opinion and not make hysterical comments about GAS just because you feel foolish.

I was calm up until now

Now i will no longer remain calm

The selected team is a disgrace

Greg Miller's recruting is a disgrace

List Managment is a disgrace

Spending on recruting is a disgrace

Shall i contiune

What a load of nonsense. It is up to the coach to select the team according to his own criteria, it is up to the players to harden up when dropped and work hard enough to get back into the team. Anyone who quits when dropped isn't worth keeping.

Sorry mate, can't agree.

A contract simply stipulates that you are picked on form, team balance, competition for a position etc. No-one is guaranteed a game, not Gas, no-one. No contract has been broken.

He did hurt us on the field and I'm sure his "I dont wanna play in the reserves" decision to retire has also hurt us off the field also.

I'm not making "hysterical comments" becuase I feel foolish or to divert attention, but because i believe them to be true.

You support Gas' decison ... good on you ... many don't.

To FUD, Phanto etc ... finally some sense. Whilst our young list developes we will be forced to play some less than adequate senior players. We ARE finally on the right track but will need to endure some pain in the next year or so.

We need to drastically inject resources into player development in order to ensure that the young players of today become the premiers of tommorrow.

It's time to get rid of the duds.....get rid of the tossers that cost us week after bloody week.

Good bye Richo, Tiva, Krak and both Bowdens....How many times do we have to endure such ridiculous kickins by Joel that dont even get past the man on the mark 15m away....add him to the past it list. Add sugar as well coz it causes decay!

That is what we are saying!!! It is time for the so called senior players to pack their bags and leave the club for good. Some have given good service others only heartache. The process of clearing the decks of the rot and creating a new culture is not an overnight prospect anymore. Unfortunately gone are the days where RFC could go out and buy the best for a quick fix. In today's day and age it takes time and patience. At years end no doubt more of the mediocre will be gone and youngsters brought in. It will no doubt take atleast another 2 years before we see results.

Well said - For me chilling out is synonymous with sitting on your hands. Hoping that miraculously things will just sort themselves out. Sorry I don't buy it. Since Medicine Man Miller has arrived the club has stagnated on field. I'm not buying anymore of his snake oil.

Be nice if we had some Richmond people, people who aren't mercenaries, people who care about the club in control of strategic positions for a change. Putting on a Richmond tee shirt and collecting a huge pay packet doesn't make you one of us.

This bit has me a little intrigued: Wallace, Miller and Sugar hold the three most important influential positions on the players at our club-and they have all spent the formative years of their football development at other clubs. I certainly don't doubt Sugar's commitment to the club, he has played to the best of his ability and at times has seemed the only player along with Richo to have really bled for the club.

What concerns me is how the players feel when the likes of Miller and Wallace ask them to play for the jumper when they have both jumped ship when things were looking tough at their previous clubs. When Roosy, Woosha or Leigh Matthews look thier players in the eye and demand commitment you can be sure that their players know that those blokes gave their all for their respective clubs. I wonder what our players see when TW looks them in the eye .

Wouldn't be much different to the players who were lifelong supporters of another club but are now playing for us.
eg Lids - Carlton, Bling - Essendon etc

Thank-you MiLD 7, saved me the time.

Not getting on your soapbox for your little timid pin-up boy Kayne this year hey Lamb?

Haven't finally seen the way he plays now have you? ;)

I don't know the playing history of Wallace that well, but didn't he walk out on Hawthorn and Richmond?. As far as coaching goes didn't he walk out on the Footscray because they didn't have the resources to provide what he thought the club needed- It isn't like he was a 17 y.o kid who barracked for another team before being recruited by us. He didn't "stick fat" when he was a player and he didn't put the team over himself while coaching at the Dogs. When has TW ever demonstrated the kind of committment he demands from the players?

I just thought the "mercenary" line being stated by "notorious219" had some merit, if you chose to look at the club critically.
