lamb22 said:This revisionism BS on Gaspar is just sickening. TW lied to him when they made their 'contract' in that he was told he would get a position on merit criteria. TW changed the goal posts and effectively told GAS he wouldn't be picked unless there were significant injuries. This anti Gaspar venom arises only because the result after his absence showed how valuable he was and posters who bagged Gaspar feel stupid and childlishly hit out at Gaspar - guys the diversion tactic doesn't work - you still all look stupid and not very football savvy (BTW that was apparent before the Geelong game).
And please lets be consistent.
It is not possible for Gaspar to hurt the team because he plays and also hurt the team because he doesn't play! Make a choice and stick to it.
When the club breaks its contract with you on criteria for selection , and you are told you are not wanted or needed, whether you want to or not your only option, if you have any self respect, is to leave.
Terry and the Gasbaggers got what they wished for - at least the Gasbaggers should have the guts to be accountable for that decision/opinion and not make hysterical comments about GAS just because you feel foolish.

The selected team is a disgrace
Greg Miller's recruting is a disgrace
List Managment is a disgrace
Spending on recruting is a disgrace

Be nice if we had some Richmond people, people who aren't mercenaries, people who care about the club in control of strategic positions for a change. Putting on a Richmond tee shirt and collecting a huge pay packet doesn't make you one of us.
Tambling Man said:What concerns me is how the players feel when the likes of Miller and Wallace ask them to play for the jumper when they have both jumped ship when things were looking tough at their previous clubs. When Roosy, Woosha or Leigh Matthews look thier players in the eye and demand commitment you can be sure that their players know that those blokes gave their all for their respective clubs. I wonder what our players see when TW looks them in the eye .
mld said:What a load of nonsense. It is up to the coach to select the team according to his own criteria, it is up to the players to harden up when dropped and work hard enough to get back into the team. Anyone who quits when dropped isn't worth keeping.
Anduril said:Wouldn't be much different to the players who were lifelong supporters of another club but are now playing for us.
eg Lids - Carlton, Bling - Essendon etc
Tambling Man said:I don't know the playing history of Wallace that well, but didn't he walk out on Hawthorn and Richmond?. As far as coaching goes didn't he walk out on the Footscray because they didn't have the resources to provide what he thought the club needed- It isn't like he was a 17 y.o kid who barracked for another team before being recruited by us. He didn't "stick fat" when he was a player and he didn't put the team over himself while coaching at the Dogs. When has TW ever demonstrated the kind of committment he demands from the players?
