Time to come home.

I couldn't care less if KB was around the club or not.  We need people who are passionate about the cause and want to be there. If Kev wants to be involved well and good but if he's not keen then we're better off without him

The one I'd really love to see used more then his role as a coterie group figurehead is Tommy Hafey.  He could be passing so much onto our kids if he had the chance to address them.  Just meetng Tommy would inspire many to bigger and better things.

I must admit I don't understand this fascination with wanting ex-players back at the club, especially from the last 25 or so years. Yes, i too, loved Tony Free, Scott Turner, the Kellawas, Matty Knights, etc, etc, but apart from that warm fuzzy feeling it gives us, what can they actually provide. They played in largely unsuccessful sides under dud coaches. Sure they may love the club, but what can they actually pass on to they current players about what it takes to win a premiership.
Give me someone like David King who played in successful, premiership sides, or try to get a Guy McKenna type who has both played in successful teams and been an assistant under successful coaches.
If there are ex-Tigers that have at least gone on to show some talent as assistant coaches in other, more successful teams with good head coaches, and can at least pass some knowledge to our boys then maybe ok, but otherwise, lets use our heads rather than our hearts.

Lucky for Paul Roos not everyone thinks this way.

Some good players from the early 80s for the tigers that are lesser remembered.

Wayne Shand, Colin Waterson, Andy Preston and Stephen Pirrie.

Poor example. Paul Roos was a great player with obvious coaching qualities. He did play in successful teams, made a Grand Final, and was made an assistant coach immediately after retiring.
Look at his assistant coches - where are the ex-Swans
John Longmire - played in successful Nth Melb sides (injury cost him grand Final)
Brett Allison - pemiership Nth Melb player ( I know he played his last year at Sydney, but calling him an ex-Swan is like calling Wallace an ex-Tiger)
