Sorry, forgive me for yellin out me post...but this tipping caper is a bit tricky dontcha reckon?

Last year...I waz almost leading the whole damn country, but thanks to Freo,Melbourne, flamin Geelong and the bloody Bombers....it all went a bit pear-shaped.....
hoping there,s more consistency, but,as is the AFLs wont(bugger em......its gonna be pretty hard to get a line of good form in tipping this year.
Whats the theory puntroadenders?
go with home teams?thats the wusses way out I reckon....Or,just go with yer gut instinct?Either way....its fun,in not downright frustrating........
Finally....is it sacriligeous to back against my beloved tiges?
AS much as I luv em......its hard to get near the lead in the tipping with their win ratio in recent years!

back the home interstate teams - always
dont tip the tigers, blues or hawks
that theory should at least get you towards the top end of the tipping comps

I've never tipped against the Tiges in my life....I've never won a tipping competition either. ;D

Last year I tipped all 8 correctly in Round 1 - and got the points spread for the first game 100% correct!

It all went steadily downhill for me after about the middle of the season, just like the Tiges (I think because I started to tip us too much........)

I think the less emotional attachment you have to footy, the easier it is to get tips correct...... :-\

I'm with you Rosy, only ever tipped against us once and although they did lose I didnt feel right about even being half happy we lost so have never done it since. All a bit of fun anyway, I know money on the line but people do take it too seriously.

won my last 2 tipping comps on that theory

very rarely do i tip the tigers, that way i have a chance of getting something positive out of every match we play in...

also use the match up theory, (ie) some sides have good records against other sides regardless of their current form

Can understand your logic but naa no way.

Last year I tipped Tigers against Cats in Round 1 and we lost and I was dirty so in Round 2 I tipped Hawks against the Tigers and we won. S o i thought this may be my superstion that if I tip against us we win and this worked until Round 10. It was like we win I am happy if we lose I still get a tip. It was my sacrfice for the team.

Then we played Carlton late in the year and I thought thet are rubbish so I tipped us and we lose. No win no tips :frustration
I learnt never flirt with your superstition.

Agree with Tango in footy tips, but I may still tip Carlton against Richmond

Usually,
Around 6 of the 8 games are won by home sides.
2 away sides usually get up every week.
(Look for Clayton away games.)
Interstate teams usually do win at home.
Geelong usually wins at home.
Adelaide & Sydney have good records at TD.
