PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I was think abou the problem that is Tivendale. I likenhim to Riccardi. Similar players - good left foot, seen as soft outside type players. Yet Geelong seem to have got a bit out of Riccardi in the past few years, in the "twilight" of his career. Is Wallace using him to best advantage? I am definitely not a supporter of Tivendale. I put him in the same basket as Chaffey - soft and turns the ball over amost with every possession.
Wallace tried to use him as the"quarterback" role taking the ball from defence because of his undoubted kicking skills. It didn't work because he is hopeless under close pressure. He may have a position as a wingman as long as he doesn't have to man up because he has no defensive skills (like Chaffey) i.e. an outwide receiver. I don't see him as a foward as the half forwards today need to be mid fielders like pointed out by Dyer'ere in his excellent recent post. Perhaps the role where we may get something from him is similar to the current Riccardi role as an impact player? I think in a strong team he has something to offer - but he needs someone else to take the heat off him.
