To hope or not to hope...that is the question?!

The deadwood holding up the young kids IanG should be told now that its time to go!

The young kids need to be told they have 7 weeks to enjoy and show what you have.

Tough Times Tough Decisions

Agree DHN. Should be some pretty active trading (that's if any other club will have them) and delisting as well.

What is the future of Johnson?

Could we get anything for players like Newman or even Joel Bowden?

Hawthorn made those tough calls three years ago and look at them now. Getting rid of Thompson and Hay seemed crazy at the time, but looked at how it helped build a list.

Why? We have the trade period to do it, and it won't do anything for the morale of the team to do it now.

same - life long supporter. went to 1973 and 74 GF as a kid. Up until last week was OK with this year - last week a shocker, we went backwards, then today and now I'm indifferent.
You would think that with the draft system you would get good eventually even by accident...

We have been bad for so, so, so long. Other supporters from other teams have no idea what it is like to be a richmond supporter, but still we stick. You cant help it

Lifelong supporter here too....followed them since the age of 7 (1978).

We have recruited a lot of outside players in the last few years. If a high percentage of them come good, and we concentrate on recruiting KPP's (backs forwards and rucks) in the next few drafts, we stand a chance of being a top team.

The biggest concern is that those flanker types, JON, Casserly, Meyer etc do not come on strong. Then we have wasted our draft picks on smaller types who are not up to it - and that's pretty hard to accept. However the jury remains out on them...so hope is worth it.

Rfc4eva; you described my feelings exactley.I don't want to bag the club but we've been here for so long and where a long way away from the other clubs .I'm getting sick of the same false hopes. >:( :( ??? :'( :help

The biggest problem as of today is that our senior players are the worst in the league and our kids are no better than any other team. We need to get our act together on drafting and player development. That must be the clubs No.1 priority.

Until we make these changes - there is no hope.

Let's face it, for years now our team has been drafting light weight players, no KPP players and it could not be more evident today against the Hawks. I know some of our light weight players are good ( King, Edwards), but we have too many of them. We won't get anywhere drafting 70 - 80 kg players. Get some meat in the draft this year!

Totally Agree.
