To win or not to win?

If I have no choice but to leave telstra dome early again on sat night I'll be really pissed off.

Most un-Richmondfan-like behaviour.

Only Essendon supporters leave the game early. I play squash with a Dons- supporting mate on Monday nights. He was sitting in his car exiting the G when he found out that they had won the game.

Soft.

Yeah on train back to Geelong most Bombers supporters said that they left early when they were 18 odd points down. Stupid!

We should win this week, really we should.

Yeah right!! Maybe we will and maybe we won't. If the past is any criteria, then we should get thumped. But who knows??

Brissy have a strong team tomorrow night and are smarting after their loss last week. Like most, I am hoping for a win, but have been too disappointed over the last few years to expect too much.

Ok to be down for one year. Two is habit forming.

Look at Carlton.

Carlton...?

Look no further than the mighty Punt Rd - unfortunately it's been a 25 year habit. :duh

A win is always most welcome!

We are not going to rise to dominance this year and so we will end up with some good draft picks.

Happy to follow the fortunes of the Coburg Tigers and Coburg Tiger Reserves as well this year.

Win today, win first week after the split round, win 1 more time about round 18, and then again in 22.

Number 1 pick, here we come

Forgetting the Carlton factor in the National Draft, the first pick in the preseason draft could hold massive currency this year, especially in light of our desire to recruit an out of contract ruckman. If we do manage to get a Wood, Hale or Charman, this would free us up to go for the best available with our first pick in the ND (presuming Kreuzer slips through).

Looking back at the Simmonds trade, the value of holding clubs to ransom cannot be underestimated and will allow Miller and co. to be overtly aggressive in negotiations. Granted, there's a long way to go but finishing last may not be as bad as it seems.

Re: Number 1 pick, here we come

The No 1 pick in the PSD seems to hold less currency with each passing season. Players seem happy to stay with their current club. This is also reflected in the dwindling number of trades in October.

Re: Number 1 pick, here we come

True tigertim but other clubs can't really play hardball when they could lose a player for nicks. Simmonds, as we know, was worth way more than Fiora or Black but he was headed for the draft if a deal couldn't be reached. What was left in draft proper is probably irrelevant, if we are going to trade then we definitely hold the whip hand.

Let's say we target Meesen or Wood, offer up Danny Meyer or threaten to take the player in the draft. Nobody's suggesting that a Nick Stevens will end up in the booty but we can still pick up an emerging ruck or possibly a homesick rookie.
