Here we go again ,we are not Hawthorn nor are we the Swans .
We are the mighty Tigers and the group of players that are currently wearing our great jumper are a team that the coaching group have developed to, run fast carry the ball and kick long to position, it has been a "5" year plan.
Now a team with particular talents develops a game plan that catches most of guard and wins a flag (and i may say that the Geelong coaching staff lost the game rather than the Hawthorn players won it ) and we have to suddenly need to be something we are not, IT WONT WORK!!! If we play the game the way our team was developed, consistently, and to the best of our ability we will break all but the absolutely best exponents of the rolling zone, and we will be successful.By playing to our strengths and creating doubt in the oppositions game plan. Its never been simple but you must play to your current teams strengths, and if your coaching and recruiting staff have the will and strength to stick to the original plan you will succeed

when we beat the hawks we had 440 possies for 36 inside 50s
v dockers 363 for 50 inside 50s
v lions 389 for 59 inside 50s
v power 392 for 45 inside 50s
v eagles 429 for 56 inside 50s

our best win was clearly not from kicking it long. same with some of our other wins. we play best when we run hard and fast when we can and we pass it round patiently when we need to.

I'd take that gameplan and a few premierships over our recent game plan and couple of wooden spoons.

Only that gameplan will never work in this day and age. Thats why you dont see it anymore. It died out with the North Melbourne Carey era.
