Tonight's board meeting

No balls and again we go on accepting mediocrity and another wasted season.
Nice contract that be on a guaranteed salary of $$$,$$$ and theres no chance of being fired.
As for Walla$e falling on his sword you have to be dreaming its all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The problem is Sheedy won't be care taker. That's where your argument falls down.

I think we just have to accept, as hard as it is, that this year is a write-off. Play the young kids, gets some draft picks while we can, and load up for a surge up the ladder next year. Long term, this year could potentially be the best thing that's ever happened to the RFC.
dont be naive there will be no surge up the ladder next yr its this sort of unrealistic expectation that has us a laughing stock.

If anyone from the Board reads this can you please PM me the minutes from tonights secret meeting.

I'm willing to pay money for it.

Don't count on it.

Walking away would mean a loss of $$$ for the man.

Something we all know he won't be willing to give up.

His love of money is only eclipsed by the love of himself.

Sorry TB I should have clarified - TW will stand down after negotiating a pay out with March! ;)

True that but Cotch's general giest is spot on.

I wonder what will happen if we turn 3-8, Wallace is allowed to stay for the remainder of the year and then we proeed to win 8 of our last 11 to finish 9th-10th.

I think his papers are stamped jb.

as much as i want wallace out the right decision was made and full credit to the board for not buckling like so many have done before them
we need to show strength to atract the best candidate at the end of the year, no need to scare guys off by sacking coaches mid year
well done GM

Do we really need to go down this road simply out of dissapointment in his performance? FMD

Who on here can raise their hand and say they work for free?

Hypocrites.

Any potential coach who is afraid of being sacked need not apply for a coaching job.
If you cant stand the heat look for a job in the media.

Solid. The last thing we want to see is this club buckle under scrutiny. Whilst it may still result in the same outcome, it's nice to see we're doing things our way for a change.

Agree, a round 4 sacking is a very bad look.

Agree and so they should be.

If this is the case, what is the fundamental point in retaining a coach, that me, you guys and the rest of the world know is not our coach no longer?

I am absolutely shocked that some posters can realise that Wallace is gone, has his papers stamped, is no longer our coach, yet, think it's a great decision to have him keep on coaching, keep on being the face of our club, keep on having the greatest stake in our playing list development and future.

All this does is keep our club under this cloud, attached with the biggest media circus into what will happen to Wallace and the future of our club, whilst maintaining the laughing stock mantra attached. Which in turn has blokes like Damian Barrett write really basic level learning articles like the one in the paper we will see tomorrow.

Move Wallace along, get Jade Rawlings in as caretaker for the remainder of the year, and do our search for a new coach with the freedom of 18 weeks.

Wouldn't it be amusing if we turned around and spanked North on Saturday night given the gleeful article he has written about our woes? :)

If we had half an idea we would sack Wallace, appoint a caretaker (ie the bootstudder) and direct him to not win more than 4 games. Get the first or second pick and the priority pick before GC rape the 2010 draft. It's called tanking forward planning. Keeping Wallace would lead to us winning meaningless games and missing out on high picks. Also it'll give us the whole year to find a decent coach.

Play it smart Tiges - tank and tank hard.

In the workplace if youre not performing to a set standard you get fired. Pure and simple.
Coaches are not a protected species and are paid extremely well and If they are not performing they also get fired.
If any prospective coaches are too afraid to take on a coaching job which involves long hours and being accountable for their performance they should just stick to the media.

Not so simple if you're on a contract in the workplace. Before Workchoices wasn't that simple anyway. Will be rolled back soon and again wont be that simple. So no if you're not performing you don't necessarily get fired.

Whats the point of a caretaker who wont be coach next year and will be probably out of the club next year when coach demands his own team.

Because I'll throw a nasty name towards some nothing on the internet?

lol Did I hurt your feelings somewhere along the way TB? :)

The internet - A place for serious people and trolls to take advantage of them and have a laugh at their expense my friend ;)

I'm confident enough in my own intellectual abilities without needing to get into a pissing contest on the web ;)
