Anyone hear Tony Shaw arguing with Graeme Cornes on 3AW about Shaw being a sledger...? Classic bit of radio. Once again Shaw came out looking like he had a severe case of small man's syndrome.

Basically they were discussing the Cornes/Minson incident and Graeme Cornes mentioned (in a tongue in cheek way) that Shaw knew what it was like to sledge on field - he was one of the best at it. Shaw went all defensive and sounded like he was about to cry. He kept saying he would never go as low as to mention others' families and kepy trying to clear his name.

Funny stuff. ;D

Why doesn't Shaw go and run into another tree, idiot.

And *smile* Cornes.

Actually think the Minson/Cornes thing was a massive beat up.

One bloked asked if he should be home with his kids and the other slagged off a dead parent.

SHould have been the end of it.

What rot, the Pies at the time went as far as racial sledging and there's no doubt Shaw would have been leading the charge.

Two average ex footballers who are trying unsuccessfully to demonstrate their new careers in radio are not hampered by intelligence.

Average x footballers?????? You obviously don't know your stuff. Oooops maybe i should of been a bit more sensitive!

So what are you saying Snap.......Good or Bad!! ???

I stand by my "average ex footballers" claim.
Cornes was a dud at North Melbourne.
And Tony Shaw was slow, small, one sided and unskilled. Imagine a smaller slower version of Tivendale who was a worse kick.
He was however a better than average captain.

Thats a pretty harsh rating on Tony Shaw, if our players had a bit of go in them like he edid we wouldnt lose to a team like Carlton. I remember in 94 when we played them on the Queens birthday weekend, he backed into a pack and took one of the gutsiest marks I have seen.

Your right about Cornes but Shaw was very good player & gave his all.Would have been happy to have him at Richmond.

ah yeah its all a beat up. boy we have become a soft bunch of pussies when we let name calling get to us.
im from the old school you would say anything and expect anything back but it stayed on the ground. anyone who lets a bit of name calling get to them is mentally weak. if i thought for a moment that racial taunts name slurrs family slurrs sickness anything would put a player of i would be relentless.and most people i played with or against were the same.in truth most of whats aimed at ya has you in silent stitches some blokes really are funny and clever.

Perhaps his gutsy efforts have resulted in a few too many blows to the head. It would explain plenty.

100% on the money Clawmiester. Unfortunately the precious anals have taken over the asylum and if you dare to break wind you will be relegated to stand in the corner with the rest of the subhumans. You politically incorrect beast.
