With the trade period over I thought I would have a go at a phantom draft up to and including our picks. I’m sure I’ve made some foolish mistakes so feel free to add comments or your own phantom.

That would be the greatest draft haul by a Premier ever! I just think there are too many clubs with multiple picks before us for us to get a shot at Bonar.

I reckon we'd win the next 8 flags by adding that haul and then introducing MRJ after 3 of 'em

I cant see any good reason not to be deleriously happy all summer. Maybe for the next decade

One things ive learnt during the trade years is your Wishlist you send to Santa, may not get delivered, however it may turn out a whole lot better, in turn you may get everything you want xmas morning for it only to break and Santa forget to leave the recipt, it may also may come with a hidden return to sender message on the bottom of the box, it may also be a big goldfish that doesn't like the speed of the ocean, only time will tell if we have a good draft or not in 2017, however I think our theory has been correct.

Easy, I like what you're saying. I've painted the Richmond colours with "2017" in gold on my carport front beam. It's next to my "no standing except for Tigers supporters" and next to this, I've also added another square with Richmond colours. I wanted to add our residential number, but I've waited.

Reading your post, I too, believe other flags are in the pipeline, soon! ;D

You must have dreams, Without dreams you are dead.

Brander looks like dropping to mid teens - Just need to drop a little further
Bonar he has had 2 knee's done lets just see who has the aggots to select him before the 2nd round
Balta looks to be another that many draft watchers are seeing as a drifter due to being a 'project' type player rather than a sure thing

Need to have something to wish for but would be extremely happy with 2/3

Does anyone think the draft bats down to the 50’s?

Sounds like a Richmond thing to say but alot of whats been written and reported seem to think that 1-5/6 are top shelf then you can throw a blanket over the next 7/8 players then another 10-15 after that.

Most are saying roughly 25-30 are at a good level and really drops off after that

I would go in with 5 live picks
#17,#20,#25,#52,#55

If Naish falls past #25 then only select 4 players

Delist Lennon & Drummond

Rookie list Drummond

Lennon gets a life only if Batchelor or Miles goes to another club

Probably a wise idea!

Hopefully we have a state league tall lined up to take with a later pick if there is no one left on the board. Or we could upgrade Stengel at the last minute.

This is what I would do. 5 live picks (plus the 2 rookie upgrades).

If Naish goes at 17, 20 or 25 then we see whats on the board, if we don't like any of them that much, then stop there (we'll have a main list of 38 so all good) and take 2 as extra rookies. If we like someone, we have the flexibility to take them.
If Naish doesn't go 17, 20 or 25 then we take 3 good picks plus Naish with the 2 in the 50's.

If we only went in with 4 then we are forced to take Naish at 25 if no bid has come as the deficit would be too much to take to the 2nd round next year. We either go in with 5 or we only take 3. I doubt we would go in with 4, its 3 or 5 for me.

For what its worth here's my top 20. Rayner is the best player and if Brisbane don't take him they are making a mistake. I like Stephenson and whoever gets him will have done very well.

4. Paddy Dow
5. Charlie Constable
6. Jarrod Brander
7. Adam Cerra
8. Nick Coffield
