Toughest player you've seen

Not sure if his already been mentioned but Mark Harvey would have to be one of the most toughest/courageous players ive seen, the way he continued on his footy after coming back from serious injurys had to be nothing short of inspiring,Archer Colbert,Browns,Kellaways all have to have hearing problems the way they run back into packs :clap

I have to add my vote for the Kellaways, Duncan first, though, closely followed by Andy. I remember one game years ago when Dunc was standing Carey and doing a really good job of it, and then was asked to go into the midfield and take (I think) Stevens. Again, did another blanket job. As for courage, he either didn't know what fear was or knew about it and simply didn't rate personal safety at all.

Would have loved to have seen Captain Blood in full flight.

Maurice Rioli used to cop it regularly as well (physically and verbally in the days before racism was rightly stamped out of football) and just kept getting up and going to find the footy.

From other clubs - Brereton, Carey, Archer, Hayes, Harvey, Ablett snr, Dipper.

One from left field, unpire Glenn James. To put up with the *smile* he used to cop from supporters (and some players) every week, sometimes even off the field, just shows what a class bloke he is.

at Tigerland surely its St Francis.
Showed unique toughness just to ge onto Richmonds list in the firstplace with his heart problems as a teen.
As regards other teams Bobby Skilton was undeniably tough at the ball where toughness counts most.
Not far behind was Garry Wilson who always looked like he had panda eyes after being smashed around during his career. :emblem

Leigh Colbert massive over site.

He went were angels fear to tread time and time again.

Can I cheat a bit and say the toughest and best player I've "heard" (on radio) was Jack "Captain Blood" Dyer, who one day played at full back, ruck and forward and won the game for the Tigers. Max Oppy and Mopsy Fraser were men of iron and Jack himself said Jack Broadstock was the most brilliant footballer he saw play for Richmond. (I heard Broadstock play too). 8)
