If they had any confidence in him they would have held onto him to at least cement the #2 spot.

Except that they have Charman who is only 25, Wood who is 21, Mitch Clark who is 20 and now Leuenberger who is 19. They are all top shelf young developing ruckman and far too many to compete for two spots. They had an oversupply and used one of them to obtain depth in other areas that were lacking.

imo the only other option they had was moran. i say this as it is clear collingwood are not interested in short term fixes.moran at 23 is not short term.
collingwood went and got the best young ruckman available to them. they addressed their needs weather they paid over the odds or not is beside the point.
