In today's Herald Sun sport section; there is a part devoted to trade week. Rumours are that we are in the hunt for Fevola, and are looking at Essendon defender Andrew Welsh. Essendon seem to have interest in Tivendale which could allow a straight trade of Tivendale for Welsh to occurr.

I say get Fevola and do anything to get rid of Tivendale.

It also says in the Punchline section that Krak WILL NOT be traded and in another section that Staff has not decided whether he will accept the 1 year contract offered by the club or retire.

Given the statements from the club that Simmonds will be the #1 ruckman, that will certainly leave Knobel as #2 and at some time Pattison will have to be given game time there, so Stafford probably realises he will be at VFL level unless there is an injury to either of the first 2 choices.

He may decide that retirement is a better option that playing out one final year under that scenario.

Hello to all the media that read our posts. :P

Trade wrap on AFL website also looked like it came straight from PRE

welsh would be an ideal player for richmond. Running off half back who can also go into the midfield as cover for cogs and co. Good replacement for wayne compbell. Forget fev...welsh should be our number one priority!! only a young lad and definately a future leadership group member!! If we land welsh i will one happy west aussie tiger!!!

So far everything has been speculation and nothing official has come from the club.

This week will show what Sheedy is made of, and we might see him telling GM to "back off my players..........you wait when Couglan comes out of contract, we'll be waiting at his front door"    :rofl :rofl :rofl

Welsh would also allow Newman to take a more active part in the midfield rotation. I know Tigers of Old will be please with this, but Newman has terrific vision in traffic and generally is a very good decision maker. might not be the quickest of foot, but has a good football brain and makes something of nothing at times.

I think we'll have Cogs signed, sealed and delivered well before he comes out of contract and Sheeds won't even be coach of the Bombers by then, after they finish well down the ladder next season.

Will Melbourne stitch up a disgruntled Whitnall and therefore make the darstardly Fevola a required Carlton grommit. I think they will. Thus saving Richmond from a fate worse than...[insert personal choice here]

Let's hope so BT, I will not be able to have a good summer thinking in the back of my mind what mischief the Pergola will be getting into.

On Sevens Sunrise program the rumour is that Carlscum will trade both Fatnall and Pavlova.
Hopefully not to us.

Damn say it isn't so. I was so looking forward to Carlton having to say that Fervola is a required player. Pagan wouldn't have been able to crack a smile for a week - would have wrecked his holidays for sure. :hihi

I would be surprised if they got rid of both - to do so would almost certainly have consigned them the wooden spoon. Hmmm not a bad ploy actually - get rid of two inconsistent performers, well non-matchwinners anyway, and stroll into the superdraft with all the top picks. Cunning - can't say the side is lying down they just don't have anyone who can kick goals.

Even though Fervola can play, I would prefer a second round draft pick for the club. They can keep him and keep his inflated salary. You have to think given we want to move Richo to FF that Whitnall would have suited us better than Fervola. He may not be the outstanding CHF of the comp but he at least plays in the position.
