Time for me to excuse myself from this discussion - clearly I'm out of my depth.

At least Morton is unknown and a chance of becoming a good player. McMahon we have all seen and know what he is (in)capable of.

Agree. But having watched Claremont quite a few times this year, I am greatly concerned that the only real unknown here is what he might be able to produce at AFL level, because he didn't really show much at WAFL level.

So the papers are saying McMahon and Morton are done deals. Assuming we get Cotchin at pick 2 that's 3 more "mids" and we've lost the following players over 190cm: Gaspar, Hall, Kingsley, Knobel, Schulz (albiet we've lost nothing in performance on the park!) we are seriously oging to be "short" again in 2008.

Hmmm if we can get #16 for Schulz, Morton for #35, and maybe, just maybe offload Meyer for Pick 29, that would give us

2, 16, 18, 29, 51.

Not too shabby.

There is still uncertainty on what the club has done with pick 18, also it looks as if Schulz will be returning to Punt Road for another year in the VFL, with a few games in the seniors being dragged off the ground everytime he kicks a goal.
