Trade Week - What would you do in Miller's shoes?

My understanding is Rodan has another year to go on his contract so he can only be traded. After the year he has had no other club is likely to want him.In his defence he came back from a knee this year & 2007 should be better for him.Likely to  be his last chance next year.

Club can pay him out too Molly Bloom.

That's what I reckon will happen too,he's just taking up a spot on the list ATM.
Disagree,If he doesn't get traded they'll keep him on the list & won't pay him out.

He may well be the player mooted by GM that has to go as part of any Polak deal.

Though as Rodan is on minimum terms a payout is not that bigger deal.  IMO he won't be playing for the RFC in 2007.

That depends on the nature of the contract(ie performance based). Besides he's already been told his services are no longer required..why would they do that if he was to remain on the list? Doesn't make sense.

It's my belief that David is out of contract.  I don't know whether he wasn't given the deal most of us thought at the time or whether it was performance based and he didn't fulfil his obligations.

Even better news IMO.

Won't cost us anything and another spot for a young fella in the superdraft :fing32

Consider the savings from last year -
Gaspar $500 large down to what maybe $150K this upcoming season
Kellaway must have be on what $250K
Chaffey maybe's $150K
Staff " " $100K

i think you'll find staff was on a lot more and gas took a paycut, but it probably evens out. brown is in the final year of his cotract in 07... does anyone know if its a back-ended contract?

What about the new contracts that were signed during the year. Surely most of those would have been for higher amounts than would have been paid this year? Anyone know how much the new deals would add up to? Its only fair to consider both sides of the equation.

To give you a rough idea of the likely range of payments, according to the last AFL Players agreement:

A first round draftee gets about $50,000 as retainer and about $2,500 per senior game.
So for example a Deledio would have got about $100, 000 first year for 20 games.

Payments would obviously rise for years after the initial two year period.

So the savings on delisted players are probably a lot low. (eg Stafford on 100,000)

Miller is trying to offload a contracted player or 2 so that we don't have to pay out their wage.  If we can't then expect a further delisting or 2.

ahhhhhh tis music to my ears :) hope you r correct there H ;)
