Trade Week - What would you do in Miller's shoes?

On another note: I see the Herald sun has been reading our posts. It talks about Polack and Thornton going to Richmond.

People need to understand that clubs will be trying to clean out their list of as many mediocre players as possible in order to have more space on their list for the nat draft. People suggesting throwing in an extra average player as a "sweetner" need to understand that this will deter a trade if anything else.

I see very little action from all clubs. We might see one deal come through on the eleventh hour and as jb suggested it might be a swap of third rate players with the mindset that a change of environment might spark them.

You have got to be joking No4, Perry isn't some dud that will get delisted, hence they will not accept that. Perry was an underage draftee, and despite having been on the Roos list for 4 years now, he is only 22 in June next year. The Roos will want some sort of a pick and a player IMO.

It's not my view, just summing it up as posted in the rumour file. but I think there may be more than one player swapping with North and restructure of draft pick order.

I'll give you Ryan Ferguson + pick 12 for pick 8.

Alternatively you could consider pick 8 + Meyer for Tarrant.

Yep, there is fair logic there Harold - might be interesting if there was another trade period after the draft though????? Just dreaming how to keep interested in the off season :cutelaugh

wanting blokes not even getting a gig

you dont say, what are you gonna wait until they win brownlows before you consider picking them up

While still disagreeing, it was interesting to read your inference that Polak and the other might be future Brownlow medalist - sheesh :hihi

thats why footy sucks

instead of trying to get GOOD players from clubs everyone thinks your just picking up rejects

thats why its a lol when players get brought up who have a bit of value and everyone gets paranoid

Ok here is a tease, if offered , how many PREnders out there would accept third round draft picks for Hall, Tivendale and Hartigan? I would. Short term pain, long term gain.

Who would also accept fourth round picks? (Sorry just being bloody minded). ;D

Krak might score a late second round if we put him up for trade which like the previous trades is probably about right.

Think of it - four players gone and four exta draft picks - I think Phantom and Red would have kittens at the chance at all those juniors. :banana

WISH LIST (with a touch of realism :hihi )

Knobel and our third rounder to Carlton for their third rounder.

Kellaway, Rodan and our 2nd round pick to Brisbane for Richard Hadlee and Cameron Wood.

Krakouer and our 4th rounder to North for their 3rd rounder and Perry..

Hartigan to Essendon for their third rounder.

That leaves rom for one more trade (the max is 5 as I understand it. Can't find the rules anywhere).

So we gain:

Pick 35 from Carlton

Richard Hadlee and Cameron Wood from Brisbane

Joel Perry and pick 37 from North.

Pick 36 from Essendon.

We lose:

Knobel and pick 42

Kellaway, Rodan and pick 26.

Krakouer and pick 58.

Pick 36.

We end up with

Hadlee, Wood, Perry. And picks 8,35,36,37,58,74.

And one trade left to get us back into the second round.

wtf?!?

have you noticed what a ruckman attracts during trade week, and knobel, despite his lack of work around the ground, is a good/proven tap ruckmen, just ask cogs and co.

have a look at what was given up for Jolly(coming off a season in which he played something like three games) and barry brooks(who at that point i don't think had even played a game)

knobel would at least attract a second rounder on his own

Fair point Joe. I was only thinking about their pick 17 being a priority and not tradeable? Like I said I cant find the trade rules anywhere. The AFL site is crap.

Amend to Knobel to Carlton for pick 19.

We end up with

Hadlee, Wood, Perry. And picks 8,19,35,36,37,58,74.

And one trade left to get us back into the second round.

As I said it is a wishlist
