Trade with Swans?

Just wondering if it is worth considering a trade with the swans. Swans will be looking for a tall at the end of the season to replace J.Ball who is retiring at season's end, we could offload Knoble or Hall for a 2nd round pick. Preferably get rid of Knoble, Hall as 2nd option since they were interested in him a couple of years ago.

Is it worth us getting a second round pick? I thought the draft was skinny this year.

Razor has had a good yr and finished strongly! The swannies may even be tempted to part with pick 17 to meet their requirement of another tall defender.......particularly with respect to this yrs draft.

If Gumpus and Sydney are keen on each other we should ask for Ryan O'Keefe,we need a tall strong forward who can spot targets.Dont imagine we'd get him though.

Not a fan of trading either for a second round pick.  We have plenty of kids on the list so I think Trent is valuable to keep as cheap insurance in case of injury.

Razor has more than shown his worth this season and is too valuable to us to speculate on a 2nd round pick.

I except bigger decisions to be made next season when the kids on the list now have shown whether they are going to make it or be chopped.  From what I'm told a couple are pretty lucky they haven't been chopped this year and next year will be make or break for them.

I think we need trades to complement our list from players from our top 22, ie established players who better suit our needs,  or else keep them.

Greg has already said we won't be drafting as many players this year as we have the past couple of years so I'd be surprised if he'd give up experience for 2nd round lottery.

I agree Rosy. I'd keep Razor and Knoble.

Who have you heard is lucky to keep their spot on the list Rosy? Name names!!

Razor is what, 25 years old, in that valuable 23-27 age range that we seem to have so few, a tall that can play KP if required (I know he's not a natural - but he is from NSW - give him a break). No, given our list he is too valuable at the moment unless we can get something better - yeh right, like Swans will trade O'Keefe, :idea but they might give us Stu back :blowingup :rofl

if we got a second round pick for ray and a second round pick for tivendale we could offer both of these picks for a player from another club . who knows who we may pickup with that sort of offer . if not there will be good players down to pick 30 so we could continue to stock up on good young players.

Its interesting that a lot of people think that a weak draft means not bothering to
trade for early picks. Wouldn't a weak draft mean that to get those early picks
you would have to give up less??

not worth it. I'd be happy to trade Knobel to Sydney but get something that's worth it.

The only problem with that is that your expecting Staff to play a full year which given his recent injury problems is doubtful unfortunately.

Understand what your saying and your point of view Pharace but you dont keep players cos they fit an age bracket or just cos they are tall.
You keep players that can build a side around that will take you to September and unfortunately for Razor he is simply just not good enuff to do that.
Wonderful servant and ass busting tryer that Hall is, he is just not the answer and i dont think his trade value will ever get higher than it is now.
I believe the Tigers should take advantage of such fact and trade him. He is just a player and nothing more.
He is nothing more than a stop gap plodder who is reactive, poor overhead, makes poor decisions and also has fairly ordinary skills.
Maybe Sydney could be tempted to part with a pick 17 but i doubt it.
A second round pick aint ideal but you generally dont get 2nd round picks for players drafted after the 2nd round on the whole.
I'd consider trading him most definately and draft some young talent or procure a defensive tall via a second trade.
Yep i'd trade him no worries and i'd trade Tivendale for a six pack and a pizza!

Well said.
Just because players like Hall are middle of the road doesn't mean you have to automatically trade them but if a good deal comes along...
