Let's just speculate for a minute and see just what is (or should be) Razor's value on the market.

Say we trade him to Sydney for their 2nd round pick - No.35. What has been the quality of No.35 picks historically?

Year Player Club Games up to end of 2004
1990 Stuart Anderson Kangaroos 70
1991 Darryl Donald Geelong 0
1992 Scott Robinson Sydney 0
1993 Aaron James Collingwood 54
1994 Marty Warry Fitzroy 8
1995 Brad Smith Richmond 1
1996 Mark Chaffey Richmond 143
1997 Marcus Baldwin Hawthorn 5
1998 Brad Oborne Collingwood 5
1999 Patrick Wiggins W. Bulldogs 12
2000 Alan Murray P. Adelaide 10

The No. 35 choice in subsequent drafts have been Wright, Bassett, Hall and Deluca - too early to tell for these guys.

The general consensus I'm sure is that at this stage in the draft picking up a quality player is highly speculative. Most of what is available is a waste.

My opinion based on this evidence is that we should ask for a lot more than a late 2nd round draft choice for Razor. He is way better than almost all of the rubbish available at that stage.
