Train on players

Stand to be corrected..... but I'm led to believe he's the ONLY player to have played both basketball and Australian rules football..... much like Dustin is the only player to win a flag along with Brownlow-Ayres-Smith medals in the same year.
Not forgetting Dangerfield, who is also a dual sportsman, having achieved many accolades in junior diving competitions.
Depends on what you mean by “played basketball”. Greenwood played College basketball in the US which i think is a higher level than anything Pendlebury played . Pendlebury was under 18 Australian AIS but never went to the US and played

All this basket ball talk made me think

I wonder if Prestia , Baker , Short & King played basketball

Hey Streak, do you know where Sanchez has signed on to play footy in 2024?

No Posh, but I assume he will stay at East Freo and back himself in for another crack at AFL.

He is good enough for sure.

Still amazed he wasn’t rookied after missing the ND.

Really hoped we might nab him.

Have we seen enough from either of the train on blokes to fill the remaining spot?

Or should we keep our powder dry for the mid season draft, where we may have the chance to fill a need?

A good question, Bradtke turned out to be a wasted pick last year.
Unless Lefau, or Schofield's performances demand a spot for one of them, I'd be ok with waiting until the midseason draft.

At Lefau's age he is physically ready to impact. (No comment on his football skills etc.)
So its now or never.
And the full time elite environment may help finetune him into a player.
I'd be fine if the club picked him.

Yes Bradtke was a delisting. But thats true of 50% of draft picks.
Do we stop drafting and wait until they are ready?
Bauer is the other example. Pick early and develop

“WAFL forward Mitch Schofield has been seen as a frontrunner at Richmond for its sole list spot, with VFL Tiger Mykelti Lefau also competing for a shot with the AFL team.”

I doubt they’d invite both to compete for 1 spot and then take neither of them.
The lure for them to try out is that there is a spot on the list for one of them.

It would send a poor message to any future potential players to try out with us.
