just watching the game tonight on ch7 and they showed a clip at halftime of the bulldogs training and recovery sessions. im not sure where their facilities are (is it whitten oval?) but gee they looked unbelievable. you cant help but think facilities as good as that would have to improve your faith and confidence in your preparation and training

how long to go until punt road is as good?

Yes. Its Whitten Oval. And their facilities are good. Hawthorn's are pretty good too. They have actual medical services out there. From memory there's a resident physio out there with their own practice sitting inside the complex. Oh, and they have a cafe and bar. Crownies are $8. No donuts. Only muffins. Pffft.

did the price of the crownies stop you?

I bought two or three cans of Carlton Draught instead. Hawthorn had an intra club game during the pre season that I went to out there.

$8 Crownie for an intra-club game? Geez the Hawks must be low in revenue.

much better value.

i pisses me off no end that this club is always playing catch up. btw how weird does ryan griffens bung eye look?

I might be wrong but for the 10 Vic clubs I'd say that only North have worse facilities than us.

I dont know if that cafe/restaurant thing is owned by them. Probably is, but not sure.

The whole complex is part of that big Glen Waverely sub division development so its a public retail/community type of set up.

Melbourne ? Geelong ? St.Kilda ? Melbourne dont even have a home do they ? Junction Oval is just makeshift.

Yeah maybe Melbourne in modern times (they used to own the MCG for training in the old days).

I thought the Cats have upgraded Skilled Stadium's facilities? Saints have Frankston/Seaford coming up which is in their region while we have Craigieburn which is too far away for a majority of Tiger supporters in the SE suburbs.

No wonder they've got flash training facilities. 400% markup on the cost of crownies. Bet the muffins were $5.00. Theiving bastards.
Don't let Vlad see this thread. If he thinks people are happy to fork out for crownies you can guarantee he'll jack up the footy beer prices.
500ml slightly warm half flat cartoon draught in your own personal placcy cup will be $10.00 next year.

Hawks facilities are awesome. They are wanting for nothing, but it is lots of bling.

The Tigers have;
* a full gym, not state of the art but good enough
* a 25m pool on site
* a boxing / rehab room with all kinds of cardio equipment
* medical rooms with Olympic Park medical a 5 min drive away.

Our facilities might not be the latest Fitness First gym, but they are more than servicable

Wait till the redevelopment of both Punt Road and Craigieburn is done.

We will then be right up there with the best.

Now all we need is the right coaching to get the best out of those facilities.

The bulldogs have a guy, I think Bill Davoren or something and he is regarded as the best in the business.

That's the area we will need to improve on.

Punt Road will be good, but it would have been nice to see a bigger and more strategically placed Social Club that would have captured better the enormous potential the Punt Road location actually has.
