PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Woohoo I finally managed to go to the ground at the right time to catch training. Mind you, I was chatting most of the time I was there so this will not be a comprehensive training report. ;)

Trained from 11 until 1.30 or so. No practice match today.

The only guys in the rehab group were JON and Thursty (both headed back to punt rd to do some boxing etc 1230 or so).
Browny did most of the drills save for the last 30 minutes or so where he did a series of short sprints zig-zagging around cones, sometimes being hotly pursued by fitness coach (Hornsby?) to simulate an opponent chasing him.

Lids was having an off day today with his goalkicking. They all had a 'fun' session at the end of training trying to kick goals from varying angles.
It was raining Sherrins behind the goals for ten or so minutes there.

On the whole our goal kicking was a bit disappointing I thought.
A few players produced 'Tigerdog like' floaters and shockers on the odd occasion when trying to pass.

Hyde and Foley did some extra work after the session with Wheadon on their low, flat passes. :clap Good stuff boys.

In one of the goalkicking drills Wheadon stopped it midway through and instructed the players to make sure they were planting their non-kicking foot in a direct line to the middle of the goals.
Not sure if it was just me but it seemed that our goal kicking went worse after that, even though it seems pretty sound advice.

Simmo. Jumped high, marked well, kicked nicely, trimmed down. Looking good.

Patto trained really well as did Kel Moore.

Pat Bowden is a fair size and also trained very well. He is already quite vocal which is great to see (and hear).

Axel trained very well also.

Looking forward to Friday. 8)

Oh yeah and John Longmire, Stone, and some other guy from Sydney, watched on from the stand.
