C,mon guys the kid has played 2 halves of footy this year and they wernt back to back,It will be quite some time before we see Travis in the 1s

Agree. Let's not get carried away.  Let's see him paly some VFL footy at the top level before we start touting him as ready to debut.  Did we learn nothing from Dean Polo? Time at Coburg serves youngsters very well.  We don't need to be in a uber rush to have every draft pick on the paddiock by round 10.

who cares, we dont need chaffey, he is overrated, and not far of useless, he is not part of the future and wont be around next yr.

Did I miss something or is it "dump on a veteran week."  Lotta soul being shown there, gave me a real warm feeling.  I think everyone agrees he is not going to be here next year but the useless comment - was wrong and showed a lot of class into the bargain.  I was impressed. :bash

I almost forgot, outstanding match report BLX, will look forward to your next one. :thumbsup

Spot on BT.

As far as I'm concerned, we need all players until the end of the season. We have a young side and going forward, we may need to swap players around positions or in or out of the seniors.

Last year's performance (particularly in the second half) showed that maintaining a list of 24 players in the seniors was too much of a strain. It affected their performances, placed heavy workload, unable to sustain.

I will see Hughes, JON, White, Hartigan, Polo, Tambling, Roach, Roden, Pattison, Meyers having their share of games. Not only to gain experience but to ensure they don't burn out quickly.

Experienced players like chaffey, Stafford, Humm etc will play their part. They may not get many games in the year but they will release the pressure off others, particularly if they are carrying a slight injury or out of form.

The other up side is it places competition high on the agenda for all players.

On that note: GO TIGERS.

I JUST WANT US to win the next three games, no injuries and give Limbach a go in the seniors where he belongs

Geez you don't want much do ya DDT. Three from three would be good. Realistically I would be wrapt with two from three, one would be about par.

I haven't seen enough of Limbach to comment but hope he comes good and gets his chance when he deserves it.

Freo, Roos and hawks should be wins to us if we expect to finish top 8. Look at the ladder.

Good teams consistently beat the bottom 8 teams.

Yeah my mistake - thought we had the SCUM not the Hacks. Two from three would be par - really hope we can sink the anchors deep into the harbour tho.

Agree but tomorrow's game against Freo looks a little beyond us now considering the INS & OUTS of both teams. We've lost Richo (irreplaceable), Lids & Krak; three quality players, while the Shockers have gained three very good players in Sandilands, McPharlin & Farmer. Couple that with the fact that its played over there (where they are very good, beating the Eagles a few weeks ago) and our assignment becomes a mighty mighty hard one. I still give us a chance of winning, but it's a small chance now whereas last week i thought we'd definately win with Richo, etc... in. The two games after Freo are very winnable, and we should win those two, even without Richo; although having the champ out makes it so much harder to kick a winning score as you just can't measure how valuable he is to our forward line/team.

GO TIGES!!!

The hawks will have Crawford, Vandenberg & Guera out for our game as well, and hopefully the Roos can get out their frustrations re the goings on of last week on the Swans in Canberra.

Still rate us a good chance against Freo, and remember, their is no love lost between Conolly and TW after the caffine debate, so I'm sure Terry would like to get one over Chris :bash

Forgot about that caffine issue, knowing how competetive TW is against other coaches, I think he will be wanting to get a bit of payback.

Good points!!  However, i reckon there are question marks over Sandilands and Mcpharlin...both have come back from injury VERY early. In not sure Sandilands will play...Headland as en emergency suggests to me they may make a change. If they do play then i dont think they will be fully fit....

Also i think Richo adds more than just scorepower these days....we have won 5 games this year and richo has kicked a total of 10 goals in those 5 games...thats not huge. But this is a good thing!! What we need tmrw night are for our forwards to show the same pressure as richo has been...the goals will come if they are willing.

Matty White - make no mistake this kid is a ripper...will slot beautifully into the team - no worries there.

Deledios loss i believe is the biggest - he loves subiaco. In this game last year he was dominant. (9 possies in the first quater i think)

Lastly i would think Simmo will spend a lot of time up forward. I know he has been awesome in the ruck this year....but tmrw night we need him to stand up again in a different role. CHF i reckon. Staff in the square and Simmonds at 40m. THe dockers have a shocking backline - we have to expose them or they will be let off easy. SImmo will still ruck the majority but i think Knobel and Hally (on longmuir) need to take more responsibilty. THis is why Knobes is playing - to release Simmo.

WIth TW at the helm...this is no certainty for the dockers.

Agree totally Gandolfini fan. They are desparate for a big ruckman as they know a big reason for our clearances is Simmonds now assisted by the big Knob. Sandilands could be underdone and will be protecting the old mandible.

I reckon we could pinch this one. Fingers crossed however.

Last year, although we lost, we were in it at 3/4 time. Inexperience and turn over cost us. Remember the Umpire saying to Richo "this is a pressure kick"? We didn't have the Knoble and Simmonds combination and as other PRE members have said, its the most important launching pad we've got.

If Stafford kicks three goals, he's done his work, but he needs to provide pressure. Hopefully our smalls around him can gather the crumbs for a further 5 to 6 goals.
