Training yesterday

Seeing I’m not a good connoisseur of derrieres and can’t report training drills as eloquently as others I’ll just post a few snippets from training yesterday.

The session started with a pretty ferocious tackling session right in front of the race.  Kingy was getting into a commentary on the tackles which I think encouraged them to go harder.  A few were gang tackled and pounded into the ground with a fair bit of force.  The intensity surprised me a bit but I suppose that’s just part of normal training.  Jay earned a fair bit of praise for his efforts.

Morro has an injured foot (? Was in a protective thingo-technical term there) and he was fairly lame and looking dejected.  I suspect he’s played his last game down south.

Rodan looks like he’s rearing to go.  He was dodging and weaving and doing really sharp turns on his own, really putting his leg to the test.  He’s really hungry to play again and I expect a big one next year from him.

Mark Graham participated in the tackling drills but not the simulated game.  He spent time talking to other players.  Great effort Mark…good you’re still helping the team and soaking it up as long as possible.

I was really impressed with Tambo’s kicking in the goal practice session.  They were all going cleanly through the middle.

Ashley Prescott was there with a team of aboriginal boys.  Does anybody know why they’re here?  Maybe a curtain raiser or something?

On other related footy news I went to the Roos shop and got my son a signed, framed memorabilia piece for his 21st. (Hope he’s not reading this) It’s a massive collage of important events in North’s history.  It looks awesome and there are clever little quirks and hints as to whom some of the players are.  They were extremely friendly and helpful there.

Alistair Lynch was in the city and I got him to sign his book I’d bought for my son. He asked if he could add a happy 21st  message which was nice. I told him I didn’t really mean it when I was yelling for Gas to take him out.  (My bimbo report alert….Geez that man is charmingly handsome.  Lovely genuine smile )

Very disturbing, my wife thinks he is a hotty as well. I will pass your views on Rosy and perhaps she will be more tolerant of the time I spend on PRE.

Kingy has been just about our best recruit ,the noise levels through the pre season and season proper have improved out of site ,thanks largely to Kingy :clap

Amazing how all the players wanted me to sign their jumpers CC. ;D

I didn't see that CC but I'm not blonde....I find PRE acquired grey tips more fashionable, ha. I had to take off quickly to get into the city and perve on meet my mate Lynchy.

When I got to training a person had several plastic folders full of playing cards to be signed and I actually wondered if they were a personal collection or for someone to hock on e-bay.

I'd be really annoyed if I was a player wasting my time signing things for someone to profit from.

I sent some things to Rhett for KB to sign for me once and he wouldn't do it, he'd mentioned on radio he didn't like people profiting from him, but I was a bit disappointed he wouldn't trust me to be genuine.

This bloke's turned into a Jekkyl and Hyde.

On Saturday Central Mark Graham said this morning that he would be talking to Terry about maybe being involved in a player development role in the coming season. According to Dunstall, Thursfield said the MG was more influential and learnt more from him than he'd learnt from his junior coaches. So that sounds like a good idea I reckon.

That would be right Jexy, on the occasions I went to training, Gas, Mark and Thirsty would peel off for a few drills on their own.
Thanks for the report Rosy.

Love your report Rosy. Can't wait to see Tambling and Roden in action together next year.I don't know but I've always thought Krak a rather shy type.Maybe with his old mate Roden plus Bling providing drive out of the middle, the work rate of Andrew will also improve.

You could see the rapport btwn Thursty and MG on the ground. It was good to see.

I reckon Dunstall reads PRE. The info. on Graham being the most influental figure in Thursfiled's career so far was posted on the Club 80 thread..
