Trent Cotchin (Merged)

Cotch was asked recently about the legacy he wanted to leave at Richmond. He agreed that from the outside it looked as though it had evaporated pretty quickly after his departure. Rioli leaving surprised him for sure. Others have followed.
I guess a club is only as strong as its leaders & good people are not so easily replaced.
The Chimp, obviously a giant figure is sorely missed but things never stand still.

Our culture needs to be rechecked & reset & it needs to be driven by the next generation. Most importantly it needs to be real, not a hollow slogan.
Who’s going to drive the next ‘Richmond Man’ cultural shift? Maybe they’re not currently on the list..
No one aside from Broad but he'll wash up pretty soon.

Spot on.

We need our own Harley Reid type.
Was on the Front Bar just recently.
Had Nick Nat to his left and Cuz (I don't like Richmond...I LOVE Richmond) to his right.
So confident.
He was holding court.
That's what we need.
We certainly get our chance in a month and a half.

15 of the first 20 picks helps too. :mhihi
Young fella looked like he'd been around the game for 20 years, just flat out having fun with the whole footy superstar scenario.

Cotch is just such an impressive communicator, and you can see why if he chooses to stay in the footy industry...... he'll continue to achieve great things!

Also, Robbie Nahas sounds like an absolute ripping bloke.... self aware with no bullshìt!

Glad I've happened across Cotch's new venture.
Seriously, reckon he'd go ok if he put together a leadership group business with guys like Lambo and Nahas etc.
Kind of makes me embarrassed that I'm twice their age and they're twice as emotionally intelligent.🙄

I sat on a table with Cotch and Robbie at a sponsors function and Robbie was brilliant. Really down to earth, spoke really highly of Gary Ayres who coached him at Port Melbourne. I remember him explaining how he felt sorry for Tambling and the grief he got from supporters. He said Tambling was a great guy and it wasn’t his fault he was taken ahead of Franklin. He had real empathy for Tambling.

It was hard not to like Robbie, he seemed like a good bloke.

Still whinging 7yrs later
They didn't want Cotchin to play
**Christian wanted to rub him out but Burke (who barracked for Richmond as a kid) didn't want him suspended for a GF.

**Christian is the sans bloke that cleared Maynard Knocking put Brayshaw.

**He needs to go and go now.

I was there, saw it live right in front of me, the Cotch got there first and the knob put his head where he shouldn’t have. Cotch was hungrier and wanted the ball more. There was *smile*’ nothing in it, just your usual anti-Richmond mafia trying to make something out of nothing over 7 years later.
Why don’t they re-visit Paddy Dangerflog cocking his elbow on Vlastuin when he could have tucked the elbow in. Prick almost killed him and got a nothing to see here. He did not even show any care to Vlastuin straight after the incident, just did his figjam peacock strut. Karma bus got those pricks soon after when the Cotch nailed the little master. Haaah!

And it seems the media seem to go out of their way to ignore the head clash between Shiel and Astbury just before quarter time when Shiel was accessed as concussed (he'd been playing alright before then...) just to suit their narrative

He went incredibly low, turned his body rather than with the point of his shoulder and the contact it is actually more with Cotchin's upper back than his shoulder. Apart from standing back and watching Shiel go for the ball I am not sure what else he could have done.

This has been done to death. Two players going for the ball and the one who went lowest (which is what you want a player to do) was the one reported simply because of an injury, not because of the act itself.

They also don’t show Shiel jumping up from the clash with Cotchin holding his SHOULDER. He came in after the Cotchin incident and played really well, then collided with Dave and was assessed as concussed. They said it was delayed, because if it was known that they sent a concussed player out there they would have been in all sorts.

Even Johnny Ralph mention in the podcast
That Cotchin went on and kicked a goal and jumped around and celebrated.
Pity that wasn't in 2017, Cotchin only kicked a goal in the 2019 GF.
