Martin seemed to handball to him when he didnt need to on a number of occasions, maybe trying to bring him into the game?

Jacko did it more than usual as well. I can only assume it was a team directive.

Said a long while back he's the best talent leysy has seen walk into the club in leysy's time watching (30 years).

Is now putting the performances into place that he will be the best player.

Have to agree mate.

The only Tigers player I've ever seen who is in the same universe is Maurice.

The genius in his football is so natural and pure - lesser players can't comprehend what he is doing until a slow motion replay.

They do it for the simple reason that on average he uses the ball better than anyone on the team. No doubt it's a team directive, but I don't think the players need to be told.

Natural & Pure.

Great words to describe him BT.

Is simply a freak the likes of we havent been blessed with for many a decade.

The Chimp's understanding of footy is just so good.........

On the replay of the game vs. Sydney, they showed a passage of play where the Cotch won a ball in a contest. He delayed firing out the handball by a split second, and the result was that Dusty got it 5m in the clear rather than under the pump. It is the kind of thing that is so easily missed. Just playing on instinct.

The best players are always the ones who put the ball where it needs to be and make the receiver go there to win it. Their decision-making is so good that they see the best positioning for their teammate and force him to make the right decision as well.

You see this trait in a number of Basketballers, most halfway decent Point Guards display it regularly.

You don't see many footballers who can do this though. Judd does it. Simon Black does it. Chimp does it.

This is why I don't like giving votes til I've watched the replay. After watching the game a second time (first was at the ground), Chimp maybe shoulda got a vote.

I often rate Chimp's games more highly after a second viewing. It's interesting that he tends to attract Brownlow votes, so the umps obviously notice him. I don't have a theory for this.

yert i saw that, read the play beautifully and composed under pressure. such a gun!

reinforced his reputation as a big time player

Kicked the clutch goals, had the ball on a string, led the troops. Thank you carlton

It's interesting. Had Judd chosen Richmond we may well have finished further up the ladder that season and been out of the race for this sky's the limit champion. Thanks for going to Carlscum Juddy . I really mean it . Thanks

The best RFC player in the last 25 years.
The only high lighted mistake the short kick that got intercepted by moronfries
Wasn't really his fault, Newman instead of leading back 20 meters, he went a stood 10 meters behind Grigg.
That's a guy that dosent have the ball influence the game.
Newman had 20 metes either way, but choose to sit behind Grigg.

Newman was in perfect position. Cotchin should have taken the longer option. It was Cotchin's mistake.
