Yep , just reading his achievements, hard to believe his only had one All Australian , don’t want to moz the skip in anyway, however there’s not many players I’d want going into a big game over the Skip.

Just saw the video for Cotch’s 250 tonight on the club site.

Teared up a bit...

Saw his first game and knew it straight away that we had a champion.

At the first FTF event at the club before he was the skip I had a chat to him and told him I could see him holding the Cup up one day with Dimma as the skipper.

I was right only problem was my dream was in our traditional jumpers and Cotch and Dimma the opposite sides of the cup. So 2017 was arse about but 2019 was at it was supposed to be.

Love the Cotch!!!!

Thanks for everything champ and go smash ‘em tonight skipper!

Congrats on your 250 tonight.
The modern day ‘toughest Tiger of all’.
A berth in a GF awaits .
What a leader he has become.
Watching these highlights below brought a tear to my eye.
‘The Tigers Are in A Grand Final’.

Will be shocked & disappointed if the team doesn’t lift for the skipper and the skipper for his team mates & the RIchmond Football Club.

Apologies for so many.

I was at his first, too. Wet day, against the Cats iirc, joined the first kick, first goal club.

Favourite Cotchin movements..

1. First game ( was there ). First kick , first goal.
2. Being named Captain at such a young age.
3. Brownlow medal year.
4. Final vs Geelong 2017 attack on Selwood.
5. That spin out of a contest against Geelong Final 2017 and left foot goal.
6.Final vs GWS attack on Shiel.
7.GF 2017 Captain
8.QF 2019 against Geelong, first contest attack in the second half led to a spill to Prestia who kicks to Lynch who goals and starts our comeback.

9. GF 2019 his attack on Mumford.
10. His last quarter mark over the GWS player, plays on and goal in the GF 2019.
11. GF 2019 Captain
12. 2020 passing the record for the most games ( captaining the club ).
13. 250 games in a QF 2020

and
14.... Into another GF
15. ........

I recall a game in his first season at the MCG playing Cartoon where the ball was sprayed towards the HFF/pocket at the PRE on the members side of the ground where Cotch was leading the chase to the ball with Marc Murphy hot on his tail. Cotch picked the ball up off the ground within a metre of the boundary line, propped and pirouetted in the one motion whilst taking Murphy’s tackle on. Amazingly he slipped the tackle, made Murphy look a fool as he sailed over the line with nada, whilst the Cotch had turned back inside and nailed a kick to a Tiger forward (can’t remember who) about 20m out on a very slight angle. Mark, goal!
It’s burned in my memory that moment, it was a wow moment when we were crap.

Someone else will hopefully recall this one and find the footage. it was so exciting.

Yep. I was there and saw that too; still remember it well. A big sign of career to come.

Two more favourite moments.

2017 GF Parade, holding onto the premiership cup longer than Tex
2019 GF Parade, holding onto the premiership cup longer than Davis (then flashing a cheeky grin back to players and crowd)!
