He has played well the last few weeks and good on him. We should never forget that Cotch has sacrificed his own game for years so that others could shine. When we needed a defensive holding midfielder, he was the guy who stepped into the role and set up three Premierships.

Now that Lambert is gone and we need an accumulator and link man, Cotch has stepped up again.

Superstar. Embodies the spirit of our club. He will get to 300 on merit.

Chimpa cruised at about 75% on Saturday night and was still in our top few. No manic attacks on the pill, no desperate lunges when Esserdun were winning centre clearances, just class, positioning and smarts. They're a bruise-free team and we had them covered so it was a nice bit of match simulation for the champ to keep him fresh but in form for the real stuff.

Poor Brisbane.

spot on spook. it was a real interesting game from Cotch.
Present, but not overly so, and very influential.

And he got another goal !
funny watching him go back for the kick.. he knows... he's smiling... love it...

yeah, he and Prestia in particular took the week off from centre clearance work, but were then pretty good around the ground.

hopefully a few more finals lessons from Cotchin for the likes of Neale and Zorko, whoever the Swans mids are! and then Selwood and Dangerfield. before 1 more classic GF performance maybe probably a team who has shown they too can actually play finals footy. Prestia, Dusty, Cotchin v Oliver, Viney and Petracca could be a classic.

The week off is ideal for Cotchin, Prestia, Jack, Shed, Lynch and Tarrant, and the young cubs too.

Wish he was still Captain. Nothing against Grimes and Nank obviously, but he’s such a unifying force.

Nonsense. If Trent wanted to still be captain he would be. Relieving himself of that burden has arguably revitalised him.

Was time to pass the baton on. Would still be provide invaluable leadership on and off the field, has had a very good 2022, perhaps with less pressure of not being captain??

Agree...it was his to give up. If he wanted to stay on as Captain it would have happened imo.

He's got a young family. Plenty on his hands. He's done his bit. Let Grimes and Nank do it this year. Inasmuch as it's not mainly an admin role Chimpa still does it anyway.
