Troy Simmonds Winning Over Some Critics

Goint beautifully just hope he has some one step up to provide some assistance as we don't want him running himself into the ground before seasons end.

Wel done Simmo

Simmo is a ruck and a very good one when played there.
He is a very important cog in the tigers side for the future and is playing very nicely indeed and i thought he kicked on last year in the last 6-7 weeks, a full seasion on the ball will allow Troy to have a major impact on games for the tigers.

Are you getting soft Craigo?

No am not getting soft  :hihi i have been a wrap for Simmo and was a defender of him last season, and was also wrapt we pickred him up, i think he could be a very very good playere of great influence for the tigers over the next few years.

I have a set list of players i dont rate or who i would not batter an eyelid over should they be given the arse tomorrow.

I rate plenty of tiger players and am especially a fan of the following

Lids, Bling, Meyer, Hughes, Thursty, Raines, Tucky, as well as Simmo, Richo, Brown, Johnno, Newmo and Cogs, whilst Jackson , White , Jon , McGuane and Casserly all offer exciting prospects for the future as well and i also hold hopes for the Sarge to kick on.
There you go not all doom and gloom from me now is it. :hihi :hihi :hihi

Don't worry Craig, those of us with a discerning eye realise you aren't a true Darksider.

;D :hihi ;D :hihi ;D :hihi

i personally believe that he has been our best this year so far...interesting article by gerard healy last year in the HUN about this bloke and how if he slimmed down he would become a good player for us because of his motor....well this year everything that Healy wrote about,   simmonds has performed thus far..... ;)...could this be a master stroke by GM....god know he is the guy that has rooted our playing list going by a certain poster....
i can only assume this bitterness is aimed at me.one of the good things miller has done in recent times is get simmonds. i said this at the time 0f drafting. i also said he has to play in the ruck because this is where he played his best footy for freo.last yr when people were gettig into him i stood by this i have even stood by his kicking because every time i saw him play he was a very reliable kick for goal. the one thing i dont agree with is miller giving him a 5 yr contract. that decision is fraught with folly.

I agree on that Claw. 5 year contracts in a game like this are risky indeed. I guess the way to look at it is a way of giving Simmonds something extra to get him to the club without stuffing up all the pay relativities but I'm with you. I wouldn't have done it.

geez i think its time for some terse short sharp digs at players far to many posters agreeing with me.

Great game from him tonight. He should have always spent bulk time in the ruck, resting forward for short periods. Whenever he plays an ordinary game, I think you'll find he's spent more time forward.

I agree. Given Knobel is pretty much a ruckman and nothing else I wonder what role he has with us. I think Coburg for him as injury cover.

Don't underestimate the importance of ruckmen (Troy, Trent & Greg) as options.

Simmo has a big motor too, and the current game requires a mobile ruckman. If he could just sort out his kicking for goal.

Only behind Cox as best ruckman in form in the competition at the moment.

Playing like he did when he was at Freo in his first year.

As proud deputy vice president, Troy will become more damaging as he is allowed to drift in the forward line.

Great work Troy, keep it going.

cox has the luxury of cousins, etc moving the ball forward, less pressure on him to be defensive.
