Been watching Tucky closely lately and I reckon he is not 100% fit. Seems to be struggling with is running.

Anyone else notice this?

Looked a little better last week, but yes thomas, he has been struggling a fair bit of late from all reports (and evidence on ground).

Not getting as much penetration as usual on his kicks either.

Personally, I've been disappointed with Tucky's year. And I thought this before Cogs went down. He's been far from our worst, but I'd love a big year from Tucky in 2007. He's obviously had increased attention, but hey, welcome to the big time. I think he needs some more strings to his bow - such as a more defensive aspect to call on (ala Johnno) or to float forward and kick more goals. Otherwise, I can actually see a time when Tucky may find himself swapping places with somebody like Raines.

wouldve been great if we had the opportunity to rest him at some stage during the season, but because of our inconsistancy that wasnt able to be put into practice

I don't reckon "resting" Tucky can be entirely blamed on the coaching/selection. At some point the player needs to be held accountable for his performance. You can't exactly rest him forward as he doesn't kick enough goals and blokes his age shouldn't need extended rests anyway. I reckon the danger for Tucky is in becoming a one-trick pony who is easily combatted.

Was alway going to have a hard time backing up from last year.
That is why i was calling for him to be traded last year when his value was highier.
But with players like cogs going down we can not afford to trade him.

Tigermad2005 may I call you an idiot?
Would we trade Polo or Raines cos their value is high? Would Syd trade Bazza or Saints Reidwoldt or WCE Judd cos he has a good currency!
Teams dont trade away their stars cos they are playing well! They are stars of the club cos they play well!!!!!

sory for callin you an idiot but its a silly idea

richo 12, in tigermad's post he said it was an idea from last year

and believe it or not, the stars of tomorrow are drafted by getting picks for players who have value.

If we want an extra draft pick we'll get it from trading tuck; not from trading chaffey (no offence Mark, it hasn't been your best year)

Been a big dissapointment for mine this year.

If he is carrying an injury once you step over the white line you are ready to play. No excuses.

Seriously i would like him to play chf to get rid of those shackles. He is being looked as one of our main players so he is being tagged accordingly.

Any thoughts?

We should have explored the options for him last year, and should again be prepared to field offers for Shane this trade week.

As DDT has said, if we want the extra picks, we will need to give up someone of Tucks calibre.

Tuck is starting to resemble a poor man's Campbell. Get the ball at the edge of the pack and thump it long.

Needs some serious development. And some serious help.

I would like to see more of him in the forward line. He takes a really good grab and kicks well for goal.

i'm flabbergasted by some of the negative comments on lucky tucky. i have seen posts on other threads by ferals who say we should trade him. i say he's done extremely well considering his circumstances. i would argue he hasn't had a hell of a lot of support in the centre square... particularly after cogs went down. he's running himself to the ground

hes a genuine big bodied hard at it ball winner ffs how many of his type do we have.by my count 3 ones done a knee and the other is getting tagging roles every week. this guys bulloking work and his ability to win contested ball is great. although i agree his kicking does need some work.
